Re: Squad diserter implementation

@R00zilla  Actually there is, as a vehicle player I often find I am way more effective on my own than I am with someone in my tank or heli. With the exceptions of the MAV, Condor and the Russian equivilant and the light vehicles.

As an example, I was playing in the super hind last night trying to clear A2 on orbital, I couldn't get close because of the lock on spam so I went up as High as I could, switched to the gunner and rained as much hell as possible. The problem however is that a random In my own squad, jumped in the attack helicopter and started piloting. 5 seconds after he did, we descended immediately and he began firing rockets and such and flying us towards a death zone. Forcing me onto a spawn timer locking me out of my next potential attempt at getting another heli because the stupid spawn timer (which is unnecessary, not deployment but spawn)

I do not want Randoms in my vehicles. If I have friends in my squad? Sure. If they're random people? hell no.

I also don't want to take anyone in a tank as my gunner who isn't willing to run a repair tool, I am done being nice about it - had to put up with lazy and unappreciative infantry for almost 5 battlefields in a row now, I am sick of it. The fact that NOBODY uses the repair tool peeves me to no end. I've tried jumping out in a "safe" location for my tank to repair quickly only to have a squad mate spawn, steal my tank and not give it back and proceed to die 3 seconds later. Then I have to redeploy, but then I have the deployment timer where I cant pick anything and then on top of that there is a dramatically increasing spawn CD to prevent people from getting the same vehicle all the time which is honestly one of the worst game design decisions I have ever seen, which hyper focuses on protecting players from skilled players so they don't get stomped while simultaneously punishing skilled players and removing the first come first serve standard for vehicle deployment that there has always been.

Do you have any idea how infuriating it is for a tanker or pilot to get screwed over by their own team and squad mates? Its worse than a simple body block or being ressed into an instant death, at least infantry can immediately respawn or after 12 seconds for us pilots and tankers its out right rage inducing.

As for your idea, it would be abused to its fullest potential for trolling purposes and it would become very obnoxious very quickly. It also risks "conditioning" players to play a certain way over a great deal of time which eventually will make the gameplay stale and boring, one of the things that makes online games fun is player agency and the choices and game sense decisions they make.

So yes there is absolutely reason to want squad locks, vehicle locks and any other forms of locks or control over the squad system.

@xeNizKing You are preaching to the choir. This was not an idea as a blanket for all players....which I have stated many times. This would be an option for players that want to incorporate squad play to the fullest.

I pilot frequently and constantly have the same issues you stated. An option to lone wolf or lock squad would fix that. This is not what this thread started as though. It was merely a suggestion that some sort of CHOICE BASED implementation could bring like-minded ppl together that want to PTO. Essentially incentivize a difference between solo and team tactics.
