Re: The amount of revives in 42 vs V

@G-Reconsin 42 unless your squad mate is a buddy, the only time you'll get a revive is when it's a weekly challenge. The lone-wolf Specialist system does not encourage squad or team play the way Classes did. I guarantee the only person who revives will be someone who played an earlier BF and understands the value of saving a ticket for the team.

  • I find the older a game is, the more likely the people will be 'playing' the game properly where as a lot of people playing the newest games are mostly there because it is new. I suspect, given time that you will see more people playing their roles properly in 2042.

    I main Falck.

There are several reasons I don't always revive everyone who dies around me, primary among those being that it isn't safe. For example, if you get shot in the face and I'm 5 metres away, I check the killfeed. If I don't see the player that killed you on the receiving end, I assume that they're still scoped on your area or hanging out in the same corner they killed you from, hoping for a cheap second kill. Then I check the minimap. There's little sense in medics rushing in just to die themselves.

The number of players means that busy flags are much denser with enemies and you're often unknowingly spotted. I assume I'm always spotted and act accordingly. I still get plenty of revives - not usually the most in the match, but my conservative approach keeps me alive and my KDR positive. 12 revives for 2 kills and 16 deaths is still, on balance, a negative contribution to the team, whereas 9 revives for 20  kills and 10 deaths is a much stronger performance. Seeing as we can't see who the highest contributing players are on our team, it's impossible to gauge whether it's worth taking an extra risk to revive a downed player who could go on to take down another ten baddies.

In other words, I won't revive unless I'm confident that it is reasonably safe to do so.

There are things I do when I'm downed to help any potential reviver.

    • I ping the enemy if I can still see them.
    • I look around and ping any other enemies I see.
    • I wait - so many people tap out, even when there is a medic close by. The death timer is 30 seconds, I think for a good reason
