Re: The bots are here to stay. This is why.

Havnt played an online FPS game since  Bad Company 2.   Back when I was still in my prime and had good reflexes and eyes.

So whilst waiting for F1 23  to release I decided to give BF2042 go.  I had no idea… literally just a whole lot of dying.  Not even sure any shot I did get off was even in the direction of the bad guys.   Ended up closing the game.    Back in the day I was a sweat in Bad Company 2.  I was a Rush God.   100% everything.   Fortunately for me I mentioned this where we Champions  chat to eachother.    Was told to go to portal and was given some codes to enter.  Up until that point I didn’t even know I could play with 127 bots.  Now I’m learning the maps, getting kills and unlocking weapon attachments:.., and endless amounts of other stuff I find pointless:   Won’t be paying real money.    Will say good thing about old online games. Wasn’t endless Progression and unlocking weapons and attachments. Was nice to max one weapon and move onto the next.  Didn’t matter if you hated a weapon.  You could max it long before rage set in.

Anyhow yes my kills are just against bots.  But I’m getting kills and what’s the most important thing I’m having fun doing it:   But what was even better. A random human player turned up in my squad during a game.   We both found our way into a light tank:  and we committed bot genocide.  Was awesome.

I watch YouTubers such as JackFrags and seeing how quickly and effortlessly his acquires and takes out players.  Demonstrates to me. I’m too old and slow to be playing multiplayer:    Fortunately for me.  I don’t need to prove anything to myself:   I refuse to play any game that makes me sweat whine  sitting in an armchair.    Killing bots is fun.  And they don’t get upset and cry and complain and accuse you off cheating, when you kill then over and over again.

No they don't, but I can often be heard throwing insults and accusing THEM of cheating on quite the regular basis 🥳

@BigShotttObviously I’m new to this game so don’t have that much experience with it. But Ai bots are just that. There is nothing we as players can do to change their behaviour or what modifiers they have at their disposal when game decides they need alittle buff or nerf.

I play F1 games and the Ai is good. Currently it has no equal within the racing genre. SophyAi won’t be fully implemented into GT7 anytime soon.

But people are always abusing the Ai for cheating or no awareness and to aggressive. and those people for the most part are not wrong. But they are still just bots, They have no ability to adapt or react in. Instant like humans do. They can not learn from experience like we can. So this is why they have cheats it’s more for our benefit to keep us on our toes and mix it up.

I see much better sim racers than me having meltdowns because they constantly have dramas. Whereas as I rarely get shunted by the Ai and when I do it’s normally my fault.

Reason I don’t have issue is simply because I know they are far from perfect so I use my experience of racing them? and adapt react to how they attack and defend and anticipate their behaviour. Most people complain as they expect the Ai to do what humans do. When playing bots expect them to act like bots and very quickly you’ll notice it’s repetitive behaviour and know where to position yourself and kill it

i apologise if I’ve come across as a know it all when I don’t know this game.  I know nothing. But decades off gaming i to know how Ai works in games and the tricks coders use to make them act more human

@ScarDuck14Hehe, yea...their empty headedness requires them to possess super human aiming and xray vision :-)

I raced against human players as well as AI since the late 90's...I started with Formula 1 '98 in 1998 and then Grand Prix Legends in 1998, then it was Nascar 2003, the GTR series, rFactor, the Race series and I think the last game I played competitively in leagues was Arca Sim Racing in 2008.

These days I don't PvP in anything really. It's all about PvE for me now at age 58...but truthfully I probably enjoy myself more than ever because of this!

Most of my 200 hrs of play has been in the SOLO/COOP game mode.

I enjoy it more, and why not? We paid for the game, so shoulden't you play how You want?

And anyway, I just love some of the really silly things the bots do sometimes, I have nearly fell off my chair with laughter on so many occasions it's unreal.

However, they have got much better to the point that they are now just as deadly if not more than some of the average players.

    Oh, and I'm 60

@80uwjx4m1chc I’m noticing it’s us old guys that are defending the bots. Guess we can appreciate how good they have become over the decades. But still bad enough our old bodies can react fast enough to kill them..

But as you say. If you buy the game you buy the right to play it any way you like…. I like chilled mindless destruction. Bots give me that. Shoe will be on other foot soon when Ai rise up and destroy us all
