Re: The laughable splash damage of tanks in 2042. Watch this.

@Anti-Tank-Killer The kill card doesn't specify what specific type of shell kills you so I can't say what it was that wiped my squad plus a random blueberry in a single frame.
I only know it wasn't a direct hit as we where in cover in one of those buildings filled with sand, ('Discarded'?) no direct line of sight.
I've no doubt that from the tankers perspective he was continually firing and scoring hits, but from ours it was an insta-wipe.

A similar issue persisted with BFV after launch, I'm not sure what causes it but wiser heads than mine on the old forum largely agreed with @Dont_Qwit explanation as to the cause of poor hit reg and one frame deaths.

@BFB-Praetorian The killcard also does not say if other explosive sources also contributed to the explosion.
I have a case where I used the underbarrel grenade launcher and the other party's shots hit the grenade as it exited my gun and blew me up

That's fine, appreciate the  info none the less. If you happen to notice it and think about it next time I'd be interested to know since this isn't really an aspect I've thought of until this conversation. What I see happening on my screen vs what the other person sees on theirs. I'm not sure if you know how to recognize the cannon/munition types but usually when you get that brief "killed by" camera it will either show the vehicle if it's in your line of sight or the outline which you can determine what cannon type the tank is running since they 3 options have a pretty distinct look.

Here are some pictures of the different shapes, just for reference incase you, or someone else didn't know. The M1 and the T28 both share the same distinct shapes for the cannons.

I get that old issue of receiving all enemy bullets in one go from my perspective.

I go to engage a soldier and before I've even fired a bullet on my end I'm dead.

    Happens a lot.

Should get fixed eventually, seems to be something they can only fix once the game is live for some reason because every BF seems to have the same issue along with hitteg issues on release.

  • I wonder if they did it on purpose because the maps lack cover. So that would make a symptom of a bigger problem. If they fix it then soldiers are even more screwed. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Game is a train wreck.
