I liked it in BF1. You'd get some really intense melee fights. Made the game feel a lot more brutal.
Not really a fan of 1 hit kill melee from any angle other than behind if all you need to do is press a single "I win" button.

@Noodlesocks To your second point... I agree and I think Battlefield 2042 will be a return to more tried-and-true systems..
It's not an I win button. If you want to melee someone, you have to dodge bullets to get him. But no one says anything about the Shotgun, the true I win button. Is it balanced to have melee, with the reach of 1 meter, 2 hit kill, and the Shotgun, which is for 4 meters, 1 hit?
