Can I Upgrade my 2042 Pre-Order from Standard to Ultimate, without getting EA Play or Play Pro, & without accidentally ending up with 2 purchases of the game? If so, how is it done correctly?

I am in the same boat... I really want to play the game early but I accidentally bought the base version. I already requested a refund on steam, and tried to buy the Gold version, but it says
"According to our records, you already own one or more of the items included in your cart.
I'm worried that when my refund request goes through after I already bought the Gold edition that it will make the game unplayable
If that makes sense.
No way to upgrade standared edition? Why am I not surproised! lol
