Re: What's your feedback on Update 4.1

I’m definitely one of these people. Breakthrough 128 is why I played Battlefield. I tried to play the new 64 version since the update, and to me, it just wasn’t the same fun experience. It was empty, boring, and a REALLY slow match. The update says more “tactical” but it was more like, “Wow, I’ve been running across the map for 5 minutes and saw one enemy player in a full lobby.”

The “chaos and intensity” that the update sought to remove was the main reason I loved this mode. Since the update removing 128 players, I tried three remarkably boring matches and do not plan on playing the game anymore unless they put the 128-player breakthrough back in as an option for us. Otherwise, Battlefield just may not be for me anymore. Sadly, because it was one of my all-time favs.

Always sad to see players leaving the game, I don't think players should have their favourite modes removed especially when it doesn't seem to have achieved anything tangible.

I hope they bring the 128 mode back for the Season 1 launch.

@RayD_O1 It’s a mode that was advertised and customers bought it. How can they just remove it. I mean if they legally can which I’m sure they checked. What’s to say they won’t remove conquest 128?

Nothing would surprise me mate, sad to see BF reduced to this level. ☹️

Its ridiculous that they sold it to people with 128 modes and now they are cutting them from the game. They seem to like taking stuff away after we all paid for it. BF at this point is just a starting to seem scammy. I mean the whole game was a con from the start, sold on lies and deceit. Now they they are digging that hole even bigger with removing one of only 2 128 AOW playermodes. They already went too deep cutting full prog and xp in solo/coop

    I'll give my feedback.

Congratulations Dice you've just ruined a game that was already pretty much broken. That's some achievement I must say.

I won't even discuss the stuttering elephant in the room, there is just no excuse for that imo.

    The guns.

What the hell did you do to the guns? You turned them all to easy mode. Now they feel the same and are just not nice to use. You'll now have the same few guns being spammed by everyone as there is no point in the rest of them. No one asked for this yet we got it. A bizarre change imo. But that wasn't enough! You also gave the console players a COD like aim assist bump.

Here's a suggestion. Why not give them keyboard and mouse support? If they want to compete with K&M players then let them sit at a desk like the rest of us. If you want to lay back on the couch and get owned by a PC player then that's your choice, you now have the tools to compete if you choose to. Alternatively, just turn off crossplay and play with other controller players.

    Boris.

There wasn't much wrong with him imo. I'm not a Boris player but they aren't much of an issue to deal with apart from the turret being a bit too good. All you had to do was remove the turret wall hack ability and reduce its view range into close proximity. The only other issue was turret stacking at certain choke points on certain maps. Kaleidoscope D flag rear steps being one place where you see it.

You try flank around a group of enemies and use a rear stair case only to be met by 7 Boris turrets sitting there waiting for you. They have you spotted before you even got to the base of the stairs because they can magically see through wall so their owners and all their mates in squad also know you are there.........

The Boris meta was starting to build in the game, you could see it as good players found places where they could abuse the turret. It should be a close support tool for Boris to allow him to lock down a position and wait for backup or give support fire. It shouldn't be a device that lights up half the map spotting everyone in it's 180 degree viewing arc. The turrets themselves are easy to deal with, if you keep getting killed by them you're doing something wrong. The biggest problem is the information feedback to the owner and the enemy team. It's simply too much.

Remove the wall hack, limit it's view range and stop people deploying them in clusters. That's it fixed.

    Angel.

You really clipped his wings didn't you? He's gone from being a little OP to completely useless in the blink of an eye. If you want to remove armor from the game I'm all for that, it shouldn't have been in the game in the first place. But I'd also like to point you towards your horrendous map design. You can spend 80% of your time running on quite a lot of the maps with zero cover and no terrain to leverage, the armor was the only thing that gave you a slight hope of reacting to incoming fire and doing something about it.

There is now also ammo attrition in the game now because people are using him less therefore there is less ammo laying about, I ran out of ammo multiple times and got killed running around like a fool looking for more. The new Meta is going to be camping because people will realize that all you need to do is sit back with your recoil-less laser gun and farm fools trying to push the objective. They are now much easier to kill and your gun doesn't miss........ It's already started, played some BT 64 last night and the entire enemy team was laying prone at the other end of the ship with the B flags farming players.....

I'm sure all the bush wookies are delighted but players like myself that like to PTFO are not. Good players are also going to abuse this lack of armor. I saw a full squad behind the rocks east of C1 on Orbital purposely getting shot so their Angel could revive them and give armor. They then wrapped around to attack the objective knowing full well that most of the enemies they encounter won't have armor, thus giving them an advantage.

Why did you not increase the cooldown on the resupply? Maybe leave him give armor but remove the plates given when he revives? My personal favorite, only allow him to supply plates to squad mates? Why not a combination of some of the above?

I have almost 300 hour put into this game, I'm playing since early access as I'm one of the fools that paid 120 euros for this game. I was also one of the people saying to give it time they'll fix it. But I'm done for now I think. I cannot believe this is where we are 7 months after the game has released. You guys are there rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic "fixing" things that no one was asking to be fixed and then have the neck to start talking about season one coming next. This game isn't even at a Beta stage never mind a full release and it looks like the people trying to fix this game have no clue how to fix it.

I give this update a solid -2 out of 10 as I cannot think of one redeeming feature in it. It has taken us back to December 2021.

P'S You'll never get a red cent off me again for a game unless it's 100% proven to be good and even then I'm not sure I'll spend. 18 years playing Battlefield and this is how it ends. Depressing...
