Re: Whats your Level?

Comment below:

  • What's your current level in BF2042? (maybe add a screenshot)
  • Do you even want/try to reach S999?
  • When did you start playing it?
  • You enjoy grinding for such a high level or prefer a lower MAX rank in Battlefield?

    • I always like to try reaching MAX rank in Battlefield if i play the game a lot anyway.
    • But this one with S999 is just over the top imo.
    • I started playing right at release.
    • Usually i like to grind for something, but the level of BF2042 has been too much.

@Its_Travis_199 S329 and no, it is very unlikely I will hit the S999, and I don't even want to. At the moment I try to figure out if playing the weekly missions is already too much BF2042.

    @kregora I'm S128 and feel the same.

I "grind" the battlepass, by completing most of the weekly missions.

Getting T1 with weapons or specialists are not something I spend any time on.

I play games to have fun, playing and grinding in 2042 is not (enough) fun.

@kregora damn, passed over 400 total levels already tho.

I also have those moments where i don't really feel in the mood to play BF2042, but at some point i was so close to MAX rank that i just wanted to get it done.

Now i have longer breaks from it till new stuff is coming with an update.

@cso7777 also already over 200 levels passed if including the first ranks before S.

But yeah i see what you mean. BF2042's grinding isn't as fun or as rewarding as it felt in other titles.

And some numbers are just too high in certain requirements.

@Its_Travis_199 Wow that's impressive! Maybe you should change your name into Its_Travis_999 😉

    • What's your current level in BF2042? (maybe add a screenshot) S118
    • Do you even want/try to reach S999? NO!
    • When did you start playing it? July 2022
    • You enjoy grinding for such a high level or prefer a lower MAX rank in Battlefield? S999 is too much and aside from the weekly missions there's not enough enjoyment in the game to keep grinding

I used to try and complete BF games, including max rank, platinum trophies etc. For example I unlocked all codices in BF1. I used to have a lot of time on my hands after my divorce and having the kids over only every other weekend. But now in a new LAT relationship weekends are no longer an option as I spend the weekend without my kids at her place, and the other weekend she is with me and my kids. So no more gaming weekends considering we only see eachother in the weekend, got other priorities 😉
But I found BF2042 just appeals less to me as well so during the week I also spend less time on it. Usually 1 full night a week with my friends, but other nights I'm just watching tv or play other games, the urge to grind is just less with this title compared to previous titles.

@RanzigeRidder2 haha, funny name joke 🤓

Not bad tho with S118 as you just joined during July 2022 and as you said with all the private life.

Family and privat stuff always comes first. 🙌 Good decision.

...and as you said BF2042 doesn't catch you much with it's unlocks and stuff, that felt way better the way they did it in like BF4 or BF1.

Yeah, most people also play many other games aside from Battlefield. I don't really, short times i spend in other SP games till i am through, then i go back to the current BF i play.

I may travel a lot for business, but besides visiting things in those countries i'm in, i also have a console with me to continue playing. Haha.

I stand corrected, S287, almost S288. I really don't pay attention to that anymore to be honest with you.

Nah, S999 feels like it would take literally thousands upon thousands of hours to reach based on my own current progression. Probably more time than what was spent balancing and fixing stuff...

Started playing since launch early access.

I hate grinding in general. Grinding implies there's a kind of time limit to something, it also forces you to commit all your time to one specific play-style in the case of STiering weapons, gear and vehicles, the S Tier for some gear makes zero sense, in this regard I prefer a lower max "tier". That's kind of why I liked Battlefield 4's progression so much because you can always pick it up and progress at your own pace, no battle passes nothing of that sort. Something else about 2042 is that "rank progression" is literally just a number? I wish it was more like traditional "rank progression" in the sense where each rank has an actual rank title alongside it like Private, Lieutenant, Colonel and General.

Like, if in 2042, Rank S100 was Colonel, and Rank S200 was General, I would feel very incentivized to progress through the ranks, because it sort of grounds your in-game progression with something in reality. I have no conception what S100 or S999 is meant to be in reality and thus I feel nothing for it, but Colonel and General? Well now, that's something I can respect. Maybe S500 could be General of the Army, then S999 could be General of the Battlefield. When it comes to Ranks, I therefore think there should be something up there for those who dedicate all of their video game time to just Battlefield, but for people like me who play different games occasionally and likes to take breaks from Battlefield, Ranks such as Colonel should be reasonably within reach and not something where the game becomes a second Job.

There's so much potential to make Ranks mean something in Battlefield, but I guess they have bigger things to worry about at the moment such as fixing the lie-service before the next Battlefield title.
