I will start with my own preferences:
1) Smoke grenade: I use it for almost all cases. It helps revive others as well as the obscure the evil eyes of the enemy when needed
2) Frag grenade: Oddly, I think that 2042 has the most powerful frag grenades in the history of the franchise. You throw one at the right place and people fall like fleas. They can be great at maps with many enemies in the same place who have not learned to use Irish
3) Incendiary grenade: This one is much more niche but it is great at times. I will use it in Rush to deny access to the enemy to the M-com controls (killed 2 enemies a few days ago who were disarming after killing me)
I do not really use the rest much, they feel really underwhelming.
Depends on my game goals
If I am rezzing or playing RUSH, smoke
If I am using C5, its EMP
most anything else, frag
