Its the EA App.
Since I had to switch from Origin to the EA App, download speeds have been abysmal. It takes ages to prepare it. Takes ages to verify. Takes ages to download it. Takes ages to apply and finalise. Small downloads that might've taken a few minutes on Origin take well over two hours on the EA App, and unlike Origin, if you pause it, it has a tendency to start the whole thing over again. It also interferes with general browsing, making it choppy, which Origin did not do.
Clearing cache or whatever on it also did not rectify this issue.

I moved to the EA App fairly recently and I thought the same, the first download after switching definitely took longer than my Origin downloads.
Having said that today's download worked perfectly so there is obviously something else going on which causes the slow download issue, or maybe the EA App is just intermittingly slow at times dependant on the levels of traffic. @RayD_O1 It was slightly quicker today, but its still fluctuating its DL speeds far too much. Running between several MB/s to sometimes 200kb/s. It finished downloading about 25 minutes ago, and its been 'applying' it ever since. Something else I notice is that whenever its doing this, a huge chunk of HD space disappears. I mean massive beyond the size of the DL. It returns when its done, but its disconcerting why its doing that when it didn't do that with Origin. Its almost like you're reinstalling the entire game sometimes.
EDIT: It has only just got to the verifying stage 5 minutes ago, and its only at 3%. This is so irritating. It'd honestly make me reconsider buying anything over the EA App in future, because having to download an entire game like this would be an utter nightmare.

Like you, the download speed fluctuated for me between Mb to Kb but it still downloaded in very quick time.
I would add it also had similar fluctuations when I was on Origin.
I can totally understand your frustrations though, everyone just wants to get the download done quickly and start playing asap. - EA_Leeuw2 years ago

I have to say though that I rarely, almost never, experience these poor download speeds via the EA app. 🤔
This was my speed yesterday while pre-loading STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™️, for example.
Poor download speeds can have various different, hard to determine, causes. ☹️

Everything is OK on laptop.
On a PC every 2042 update becomes a headache - slow speeds, m2 ssd constantly load 100%, infinite files verify. Its faster to reinstall the game (no joke) rather then apply an update. - EA_Leeuw2 years ago

Hey @anatoliy_bf,
We are actively looking into a possible EA app issue in correlation with BF2042 patches and the Matchmaking failed error message (for example). If you happen to experience this issue, please share some details in this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Matchmaking-error-after-5-1-patch-July-4-23-PC-EA-app/m-p/12717155#M175680.

How is warframe nowadays anyway? I stopped around (trophy) update 17 but even then it had drastically changed about 4 times - I just couldn't keep up
