Re: Why is K/D so highly reagrded in BF? It's NOT the ONLY Team STAT...

@VOLBANKER_PC No offence mate but this is a prime example of KD being part of the problem, you feel the need to push the high KD, High score as the better player.

That is obvious so again, so what? You are missing the basic point of the all to mentioned mantra of 'High KD - good player, Low KD - Bad player".

Too many see it as that black and white but it is simply not always the case.

    @Trokey66 Of course it’s not blsck and white, that’s why I wrote the “to clarify” post above as well. It looks to me like you haven’t seen it.
  • I rarely ever look at the K/D. To me, it just doesn’t make sense as a form of grading a quality player in this game. I always look at the score because at least that takes into account healing, reviving, supplies, attacking/defending objectives, etc.

    As someone who plays Medic/Assault, whatever the healing/reviving class is, I’m not always looking to engage. Sometimes I’m just running around healing and reviving, trying to help my team continue to push or defend objectives. So yeah, sometimes I’ll have more deaths than kills, or not a lot of either, but it doesn’t stop me from getting a higher score than most players.

  • Battlelog is having a rough time right now with all the people back on BF4.  It's only reporting games from a few weeks ago for me, but some of my placements:

    #3 K to D 16-22, Score 11727, SPM 553, .7 K/D.  The #2 player went 29-14 with 11861 score.  Top player on the other team went 42-13 with a 13936 score.

    #4 18-29 with 11166 score.  #1 player went 60-14 with 21142 score.  #2 player went 40-11 with 15901 score.

    #3 17-16 with 10770 and SPM 920.  The #4 player went 25-0 lol!!

    Most games I don't top 20 kills.  How high I am on the scoreboard depends a lot on the map, how the action flows, etc.  If it bogs down into a choke point battle, I might not score that high.

    SPM is a good indicator but that is very much game mode dependent in recent games.

    @ArchAngeL-PCX Select the option that says "see all reports" there you will find the most recent games, those games do not appear in the notification.

    Regarding K / D, I think there is more specific data and with better precision to know how good a player one is.Kills per minute, points per minute, and accuracy. I think these data are more accurate to know the type of player we are.

    @1986CristinaThanks! Found my recent reports.

    Last game I played last ni...i mean early this morning (lol!!):

    #4 12-12 with 11275 score.

    I was the only player in the top 7 with less than 21 kills. The map was Silk Road, and we won. Those who know the map can guess how most were getting their kills.

    But it all works together. The tanks were holding the line and our armor dominated the map, allowing me to directly assault and take flags.
