This debate will last as long as FPS games.

Kd isn't all important. I'd rather be in a squad with someone going 20/10 in the action than 7/1 from the middle of nowhere.

There are lots of ways to help the team that have been listed, some are a bit overated (Bfv amo pouches mainly, without gadgets they are just cheap SPM fodder). But keeping a tank alive and medic and spotting duty are priceless.

Buuuut, on a contested objective your team needs to kill the other better than they kill you otherwise you lose it and the round.

    @A_al_K_pacino_AI think that is what irks me the most. If you are lucky enough to be able to maintain a high KDR that does not mean you are a superior player, but many think that way. As you say, the debate on this is never ending. What makes the game great is its complexity. There are lots of ways of being good at it. Being an agile and accurate shooter is one of them. But then so is being a healer or a mender or a suppression provider. The more that understand that the better the games and the more inclusive the game is. Those that think KDR is king are missing out in the fun I think and I hope BF2042 somehow has some features that push us back in that direction.

    So, in your opinion players with high KDR have it just because of luck? That is a bold statement to make.

    i went 82-1 on zavod before getting kicked by the admin..... k/d > ptfo

    @UP_SunnyTheWolf I meant lucky enough to have the skill to maintain a good KDR. Good KDR does involve skill, but it's not the only one. I'm never going to have a good KDR but I'm good at earning my keep in other ways.

    Its a stat that can have many variations, while one variation might mean they're good, the other might just mean they're good at finding a spot and camping while not helping defend/capture flags ect . I know of a few players with a really bad K/D that do more for the team and have a big impact on it just for being medics.
