Simply because it wasn't a team game.
This was a BR/Extraction Shooter that they converted at the last minute. It didnt even launch with VOIP. It didn't have a scoreboard because why would you need one in game if it ends up being last man standing?
Bad ideas turn into bad products as you can see with this hot mess.
