Game crashes WiFi turned off

Last few days like everyone else portal empty or errors and can't open a game. However...even worse is when I can open a game, after 20-30s the game crashes, no conection to EA servers and my wifi is turned off. Can't restart my Pc (W11) or shutdown so have to press the Pc case reset button to reboot. B4 not affected.

  • [EDIT]
Contrary to what the moderator marked my answer as a solution: ⚠️THIS IS NOT A PERMANENT SOLUTION.
It's just a one-time fix and THE PROBLEM WILL RETURN when you restart your PC.
    [/EDIT]

    Hi everyone, it's solved here.

The solution proposed by twentyten1225  works .
For the first time since mid-January, I "passed" 2 minutes of playtime and played a complete, uninterrupted match.

For anyone having trouble with how to reset the network, instructions follow.
(note: In this process at end, you will need to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network again; you will be asked for the password.)

How to perform a Network Reset on Windows 11

    1. Open Settings
    - Press Windows + I
    or
    - Click the Start button → Settings

    2. Go to Network
    - Click on “Network & Internet”

    3. Open advanced settings
    - Scroll down
    - Click on “Advanced network settings”

    4. Find the reset option
    - At the bottom, click “Network reset”

    5. Run it
    - Click “Reset now”
    - Confirm

    6. Restart

    7. Windows will prompt you to restart (or will do it automatically after a few minutes)

    8. Reconnect in your wifi network with the password and run the game.

  • Hi Team,

i confirmed that after i reset my network my BF2042 is now working fine and i will try now my BF5 , im from UAE Dubai,

  • It worked the first time, a day later it seems its back to the same issue so it works initially only to solve the issue, so annoying at this point.

    True DIRTYMAX_468

It only works in the session where you restarted the network.
If you run the game, play normally, and then turn off your computer, you will need to restart the network again.
    What a piece of junk.

  • So here I am posting about the latest bf6 update crashing my pc however i believe they fixed 2042 a week ago because i played on the weekend with no issues and didnt do the network reset, so if bf6 is a loss at the moment I will be on 2042 lol

    No DIRTYMAX_468

    The problem persists.
Tested now, 5 minutes ago, clean installation, EA App.

One minute into a match and the Wi-Fi disconnects.

    Hello,

i have never had a connection issue by playing BF2042 on Steam .. since a latest Javelin update. I believe it happened by a update of Apr 15th or 16th https://steamdb.info/app/1517290/history/

I had even completely reinstalled my OS from scratch etc.

So, yesterday I had tried your fix which had worked for my whole playing session.

Today, again Wi-Fi (7) disabled while playing.

On Conquest Discarded as Blasco, I put a Respawn Beacon onto a stack of Euro Pallet. By doing so, my Wi-Fi disabled until I closed BF2042. I can guess as Javelin's filter causes these network device crashes ..

If someone of the Battlefield Team and/or Mods as well as Developers read this. Please fix this crash asap, as to resetting network seems to be just a temporary and annoying fix . . . therefore this issue is "not solved" yet ..

    EDIT:

instant network crash happened after a next try straight afterwards ..

Exactly N3tRunn3r. I warned in posts right after, but even so, some moderator marked my answer as a permanent solution. That's wrong: it's not permanent solution, it's just a one-time fix and the problem will return.

Do as I did: abandon these games. There are many other games that need players and listen to the community about problems, and if they don't fix them, at least they say they're trying – something that doesn't seem to happen here.

It's clear that the moderators aren't even trying to understand the problem or truly follow the thread. If even the moderators don't care about it, it's clear that this will never reach a potential development team as a bug.

Give up. Look for other games. Have fun!

thank you for your reply and mentioning your fix as temporary.

sadly (?) i do play "BF2042" and "Counter-Strike: Source" as my only 3D online shooter games.

as i am aware as Javelin is still a relatively young anticheat feature and so still under development and improvement, i understand as issues might happen like this. so lets see. today my wifi was stable at least, but servers begin to rubberband and to auto-close connection, as mentioned in a seperated thread
