Re: BF2042 pre-load failing

Considering the flak they got during both betas, and the current state of online games, they should probably focus on transparency from the beginning. 
I've played a half dozen betas this year, into their full releases. 
The best of them for transparency was Splitgate, and they only grew and grew from it. 

EA has plenty of staff. 
They need to give people basic info to manage expectations. 

It probably IS servers being overwhelmed, but I work a full time job and can't just sit here hoping it downloads eventually.

    If you get those error its not related to download servers issues its connected with the account and you need to reach out to EA Support. 

    Just something for note, you dont pre-purchase games on Origin/EA App only pre-order. So we would have tanked the money in last few days instead of months ago.

    @EA_Atic It doesn't really matter when the money was taken.

    So what you're saying is that the download servers are fine, and there is some 'issue' with our accounts when we see this error.

    I confirmed the money was taken, and the game shows on my account for pre-load. Why does a download error with that verbiage indicate an account issue?

    @Valor958 Based on the error code and what we can see this is something EA Support need to help out with.

    @EA_Atic EA chat support rep Khushi confirmed everything on my account is fine. Two sides of the same support system need to get their troubleshooting in line.

    I'm redoing all my basic troubleshooting, as EA chat wants me to release/clear all my IP info. I already did that, but now I can say I did it just for them.

    I did a full release of IP and DNS info per EA Chat's suggestion, and same error. 

    The issue here is frustration increasing because no one knows what's going on, and gives conflicting info. 

    AHQ says contact support, servers are fine. 
    That error is an 'account issue'.

    EA Chat says, 'nope, account is fine, but it could be an IP issue, so do all this stuff again.'

    Both are wrong. 
    Please escalate to get your community some answers. 
    We deserve it, and aren't really asking for much.

    @Valor958  sorry to hear about the experience you had, you dont need to do troubleshooting on this issue. 

    One thing to note, EA forums are not EA Support its player helping player forums. Part of what we Community mangers do is helping out on the forums. 

    Let EA Support they need to take a look on the account.

    Part of forum community reps roles is to provide accurate information to the community. 

    Right now, there appears to be an issue with download server congestion. 
    I've spoken to two EA Chat reps now who confirm this is not a support issue. 
    My game key is active and registered to me. 
    My account is active and in good standing. 

    So, neither AHQ of EA support knows what's going on. 
    That sounds like an issue... 

  • Same pre load error and when I got it cancelled I am not able to pre order it from the EA app.

    It is still showing me that "pre load". And now I am being asked to install Origin. Why should I install Origin when I got the EA app.
