The only way I was able to get EA APP to work properly was to uninstall BF2042, uninstall Origin and registry clean all traces of both including delete the BF2042 folder in my documents. Then Download EA APP from EA and install it then the game.

Hope this works for you too.

    Thank you, I appreciate your response.

    I will have no choice but reinstalling the game like you did.

    It looks like the Origin workaround doesn't work for all.

    @DS3DArtist It worked!

    Though, I spent 3 hours downloading the game, the EA app did work in the end after the fresh install.
