@BaptLiveDon't hold your breath. We've been waiting for a patch since they broke the game via Season 3 last November...
Getting 100% usage since Season 4 patch. This is causing the game to be unplayable as Keyboard inputs often lag behind and make my player move after I let go of the key making me walk into the open. This needs to be addressed as a priority over anything else right now. Asking in-game chat it seems many have the issue without knowing about it until I ask if they are having movement issues, they check the CPU usage and sure enough its at 100%. Already at Ultra settings at 4k, but pushing above 4k using Nvidia DSR reduces CPU by around 5% making it bearable but reduced performance.

Hello! Perhaps you can help me too ? I created a user.cfg where the processor threads were the value 6 and tried the value 8 and even 4, sometimes this helped solve the problem, but still the general background often adds up to an increased TN parameter. I thought maybe you'd see something else that I could try to change.
Reverting to windows 10 to see if my performance will go back up, because this and some other games have been stuttering bad.
Bf2042 was good the first day or so after i upgraded. Not sure what happened had the nvidia driver crash after it did the latest update on windows 11 22h2.
Reinstalled drivers with ddu in safe mode and used the latest nvidia drivers but therr was like a cyclic stutter, for a moment I'd get good fps and then probably 3 seconds of unresponsive controls but frames still running.
Tried turninf rebar and above 4g decoding off in bios. Not surr what else to do besides restoring win10. It just finished guess I'll give it a whirl.
It was Windows 11 that was the culprit. Definitely will not be installing the optional 22h2 update for windows 10 either.

Please note that if you have an Nvidia GPU and if you have updated your GPU drivers to version 531.18, there's a bug in those drivers that also causes at least +10% CPU utilisation.
Known Issue - Nvidia Drivers - Version 531.18Nvidia is working on a hotfix. Once it is available, we will post an update in the above-mentioned thread.
- @EA_Leeuw Thanks for letting us know, but please know this is NOT the 100% CPU usage issue we are having, what you are referencing is a separate issue. I have rolled back drivers and still 100% CPU unless I push my resolution out to 6k - 8k which I then get around 90% usage but much lower framerates, it does however fix the delayed/continued inputs which is a side effect of 100% usage. Please give us a update on if the team are investigating this ? I cannot keep playing at 6k resolution, its a slide show!

- @SkyIerMalia There is no fix. I used this guide, it did help a little, I know longer get the movement issues but cpu usage still between 90 - 100% so GPU is not being utilized. - @ScottyDontNZ Ive tried so many workarounds, I'll give this on a shot though thank you.
- @SkyIerMalia Just know, it's not a complete solution, just may make it bearable. Playing 32v32 is the only true fix, still super high CPU usage but the mode actually works and I get smooth gameplay.
It seems that the Userr.cfg or Lasso for example doesnt work for a CPU with 8 cores !
They locked the minimum cores for BF2042 to 8 , hardcoded. (season 4)Most important now , if ya want more performance ingame , then close as much as possible apps//prograMS BEFORE YA STARTUP bf2042.
iN THIS CASE A CLEANBOOT IS THE BEST OPTION,If ya want even more , then check how to safely disable 26 windows services also <-- remember , some configurations need some of those services !
Or try a very light/stripped windows install version <- with minimal options.Cheers
What do the devs say about this? At the end of Season 3 it worked and it was playable, but now with Season 4 it is a disaster again.
5600x and 3070ti 100% CPU with low GPU usage. On 125 servers with everything on low 80-100 fps and not even smooth.
It´s really annoying.- @DodgeZero They have gone silent on the issue and possibly even think it's fixed after they released patches last year improving the issue for some but it's back. I was DMing a dev on Twitter and while we had a conversation about it he wouldn't go as far as acknowledging it as a known issue or being investigated. He said he would talk to his colleagues.
Lastly, I always thought 64p was okay, however now that conquest exodus is back (make it permanent!) I can see I'm 100% usage there too but it still plays ALOT better. But drops frame and inputs in very chaotic moment which it shouldn't using a RTX 4080. - @ScottyDontNZ Great, so we can't really count on a solution?
Yesterday I switched the Windows energy plan from Highest Performance to balanced (Ryzen 5600x) and experienced a slight improvement. Unfortunately the commands in the user.cfg don't change anything anymore. In some situations
I also have a complete loss of input, which is new with season 4 and wasn't a problem before and yes I agree with you. DICE should at least leave the 64p mode in the game all the time, no idea why they keep removing it.
Can you tell me what cpu are you using? I have the impression that it affects more AMD users. i have the same issue with my system i have a fresh install of windows 10 with just games installed and some software for my pc i have a i7 8700k 4.5Ghz and a 3060 ti and 32gb of ram and using a ssd i was able to play ultra maxed out 1440p no issues in season 3 and below but now season 4 came out high settings i get 40-50-60 fps and low settings i get 60 if i am lucky because my cpu is getting torched by this game 100% all the time and my gpu is at 50-60%
I get this same issue, I've tried turning off every application except 2042, it seems to get progressively worse over time. It will only be a second of input lag, then over the course of 10-20 min, it will just be 5 seconds of input lag no matter which key I press.CPU is 100%, fans spinning so hard my pc is about to take flight. My friend's pc has worse specs than mine but doesn't get this issue though surprisingly.
