My guess is that you have Secure Boot disabled?
From latest bf2042 updateSecure Boot
With Update 8.8.0 on Battlefield 2042, we will be requiring that Secure Boot is enabled for PC hardware that can support it, in order to provide you with a higher standard of trust and safety whilst you play select EA titles. As cheat developers keep evolving their tactics, we're stepping up our game too. To keep Battlefield 2042 fair and fun for everyone, we're strengthening our defenses—especially against cheats that try to sneak in during the Windows boot process. This move supports our Positive Play commitment and helps ensure a level playing field for all players. If you attempt to load the game following Update 8.8.0 without Secure Boot enabled, but are on a piece of hardware that supports it, you will be prompted with a message stating that Secure Boot is required. Secure Boot is a feature that is available for Windows 11 and Windows 10 devices, and you’re able to learn more about how to enable this functionality via our EA Help article here.
also you are not alone:

Battlefield 2042 received an update yesterday which I installed and I was able to play before and after the update but today I cannot launch the game anymore.
I've been trying to launch Battlefield 2042 for at least an hour now and haven't found any way to fix it. I get the following error: "Security Violation, c(111)". The error does not include any further information that would allow me to identify the root / source of the problem.
I tried countless things, from installing / uninstalling / repairing all sorts of game and anti cheat files. I suspect that the anti cheat is probably stopping me from launching the game as it might be suspecting something fishy going on in my PC but nothing was changed since last time I played yesterday and today: no new updates, downloads of any other application, no new devices, no vpn. I just updated my Nvidia drivers in case it might be related but it didn't change the outcome.
I'm playing on a Windows 10 PC. I have Battlefield 2042 from Xbox gamepass but have to launch it from the EA app/launcher (which has always worked without any issue in the past). The Xbox app/launcher, EA app/launcher and Battlefield 2042 game and anticheat are all installed on disk C, so I cannot see how the issue could be related to having multiple drives.
My main PC components are the following:
CPU : Intel Core i7 13700KF
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 UD DDR4
GPU: Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti
RAM : 32 GB DDR4 3600MHz
Storage : 3 PCIe Gen 4 SSD's with enough performance and room to install and run any game.
If you have any suggestion, please let me know :)

Heya,
I am encountering a problem with my game and tried for 3 hours multiple things but cant find a solution... It started with red error banner at the game startup, and now a security violation code c(111). I have reinstalled, repaired both the game, cheat launcher and game launcher, stopped some known background task that would have created a problem, cleared ip config and all... Any fix suggestions ? - avirt2 months agoSeasoned Newcomer
EA, roll it back PLEASE! I just can't use security boot, 'course i use Multiboot with Qubes OS, which requres Security boot OFF. Also my Windows just can't boot at all with Secure boot ON.

The funny thing is that in BIOS the secure boot is Enabled, but when I follow the guide: https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/secure-boot/ it shows me in Windows that it's OFF. :D

Hi Aceredshadow,
It sounds like you might be having the same issue as the person in this thread:

Dear Developers,
I've been playing this game since 2005 — it's not just a pastime for me, it's been a part of my daily life for nearly two decades. This is the only game I've truly stuck with all these years. I’ve never used cheats, hacks, or any unfair tools — I’ve always played clean because I genuinely love and respect the game.
But now, this recent “security improvement” is breaking the experience for loyal, honest players like me. It’s heartbreaking to see something I’ve cherished for so long become unplayable. It feels like you’re punishing the wrong people.
Please, reconsider the impact this change has on your long-time, dedicated community. We’re not the problem — we’re the reason this game has lived so long.

All of you can double check your Secure Boot state with PowerShell as on that example:
To PowerShell:Confirm-SecureBootUEFI
PowerShell will return True or False

Was geht jetzt wieder ab ?

Mine was the same way. Go into your Bios then go to the boot section. In there you should find the Secureboot option. Mine said enabled but right under that it had options for "keys". I had to select custom and then set it to "factory" defaults. My EVGA board then asked if I wanted to exit without saving and I said yes. The computer rebooted and my game loaded up fine.

I left this reply to one other but I will leave it here too.

Hi,
I have the exact same problem, my playmate have to ... - I-Le_Valaisan-I2 months agoRising Novice
I'm on Windows 10, my PC is from 2023, Aurus master Z790, everything is up to date. I just updated my Bios too. "Secure Boot" enabled in the Bios, GPT disk, UEFI OK. TPM status "ready to use". Everything is in order on my side. But not on EA's side.
EA you broke our game. I tried everything and it still doesn't work with a PC worth over 3000 dollars. Everything is up to date, I've never cheated in 20 years of Battlefield. And now you're offering me "c(111)" "c(111)" "c(111)" :( :(
