It’s not even just free look. You also can’t control your plane when using rear cam either. This more so than moving while free looking, has been a fundamental part of the game reaching back to BF3.
But more importantly than the issues mentioned above, is the pitch up/down rates are completely reversed. In fact you can complete vertical and horizontal loops significantly faster, by using pitch down rather than pitch up. Pitch down is so much better for turning than pitch up that a few dedicated pilots I know, have actually resorted to flying upside down.
