A (late) thought on Battlefield 6 Beta

Been busy with other stuff but here's some thought and standing out thing I got from the Beta

It kinda funny but this is a thing that 2042 did better. Mostly UI/UX related.

  • The score log messages come and go really fast and somewhat harder to track on what you just doing. Especially in the middle of tense situation.
  • The revive process from Defibrillator need an improvement as they're bit confusing when you're ready to revive teammates with full health or just simply revive.
  • Oddly enough that I found 2042 ping and spotting system being really in a good place and somehow it's worse in Battlefield 6.
  • The overall visual cue and clarity seems to getting worse compared to 2042 but I get that the 2042 map itself being more pristine and less thing going on.
  • The forced spawn at the start of round is back again. I believe this is a thing and then remove later since Battlefield V. It's third time now. The insertion process of 2042 is more refined.

and other stuff including:

  • The flow of end of round need an improvement as well along with some annoying issues like unable to leave when the match end and being forced to next match with squad. The automatic process to show all the UI elements is not going well with end of round timer. They just show me what I unlocked and I suddenly found myself in next match already.
  • Spawn screen seems to going back to Battlefield 4 style but for some reason it's not as responsive and smooth as I remember.
  • The minimap keep zooming in and out for me for some reason, just by running on foot. Maybe there's an option in the settings but it's very annoying and I want simpler design.
  • The big map still act as separate page like 2042, which I'm not a fan of. While Battlefield 1 and V being just expand and not take your entire screen.
  • I can't use console command for some reason which make me unable to turn the UI off and get the clean image of weapons and soldiers from the menu, for wiki reason.
  • The loadout customization menu seems to suffer from requiring too many clicks.

Meanwhile gameplay related feedback:

  • The Thermobaric grenade launcher being too good. I think the slow debuff need to go. Not to mention you can carry both types of grenade launcher at the same time but I don't know all the gadgets for Assault yet so people may go with other combination instead of this. In the Beta it's only carry both grenade launcher or able to carry another primary.
  • Shotgun is too good and I feel like I got yeeted out from existence by them in one frame a lot.
  • The aiming down sights process of LMG is too slow. I get the intention of making them more different than assault rifles but I found it too much. Especially in smaller mode.
  • I'm not a big fan of Assault being able to carry 2 primary weapons. It's prone to making them jack of all trades like carrying sniper and shotgun/carbine. They have less ammunition but it's not really big problem to find an ammo.
  • I found the overall gameplay somewhat feeling like having a latency between what I see and what happen and the movement is not as responsive as Battlefield V.
