Battlefield 6 Beta Feedback - As a newerish player since Battlefield 4
Battlefield 6 Beta Feedback
My Gaming Background
I started playing the franchise with Battlefield 4 on PS3 and PC, including all its DLCs. Since then, I've played Hardline, Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, and the Beta of 2042.
Outside of Battlefield, I've also played a wide range of shooters including multiple Call of Duty titles (Black Ops 2, Cold War, MW2019, Warzone), Titanfall 2, and The Finals.
Core Feedback
Movement
- Sliding feels too strong and can become oppressive, especially when spammed around corners.
- Personally, I prefer a Run → Stop → Gun flow over Run → Slide → Gun with crouch spam.
- I remember the gadget movement exploit in Battlefield 4, but I wasn't a fan of that either.
- My Suggestion: Limit slide usage, adjust it so it doesn't dominate close quarter or remove it.
Reviving
- Defibrillator revives are currently too fast and spammable.
- Entire squads can be brought back instantly, which feels unbalanced.
- My Suggestions: Add a short cooldown between uses and make the reward that fully charged revives are better more clearly.
Gunplay
- Weapons feel almost "laser like" with very low spread, similar to Warzone.
- Unsure if this is intentional, but increasing spread slightly might make combat feel better. It could be just a thing of modern games and improvement of visual clarity now though.
In Game UI
- The UI could be improved.
- I miss the ticket counter with faction symbols above the minimap (NATO flag, Pax Armata emblem). It gave better immersion and clarity.
Menu UI
- The main menu feels cluttered and could be simplified to make joining games faster.
Gun Customization
- The customization flow is slower than it should be. Currently, you must click through multiple menus to reach attachments.
- I've personally liked the part in Battlefield 4 where you had suppresors/silencers do the same thing but had a bit more variety for aesthetic purposes.
Tank Gameplay
- IFVs felt great and fun to play.
- MBTs felt less enjoyable due to switching between AP and HE rounds. (I understand the logic (AP vs tanks, HE vs infantry/buildings), but I preferred the simpler setup of: 1. Tank Round 2. Machine Gun)
Less important Feedback:
Flag Poles
- Seeing your flag rise was a nice touch in earlier games.
Closed vs Open Weapons mode
- I prefer Closed Weapons as the default, with Open Weapons as an optional mode. Not the other way around.
Good Things:
- Audio: Sound is very good.
- Drag Reviving: Very fun mechanic.
- Theme & Uniforms: Standardized faction uniforms are fantastic and make teams feel like an army, even on the Mercenary side.
- Rush: 12v12, Worked really well on the current maps, and I had the most fun in this mode. On larger maps, a higher player count could improve it further
Final Thoughts and Post Launch Game:
- I did see some of the preorder skins and stuff, please reconsider this. A key strength of Battlefield is the feeling of being one unified army/group, not a group of random, mismatched characters.
- Overall, I had a lot of fun in the Beta. I think the game has a strong foundation, now you just have to build a good looking house.
