I'm not saying you guys are 'wrong' but pretty much all the comments here are ignoring it's a beta.
- We are seeing a limited amount of content (guns, maps, etc).
- The netcode is a little lacking possibly because they will have diagnostics/logging turned way up (so TTD < TTK and feels off) and because they cannot have had large scale testing before now.
- The pacing feels fast from many small contributors like netcode, TTK, map size which will all 'change'.
- The Server Browser is the 'old' way of doing things and there _are_ ways to get what we want without insisting on that particular solution. They already added a Custom Search which conceptually, if expanded and joined with Portal, can give 99% of what people want from a server browser.
- There isn't much co-op currently because _everyone_ is experimenting and, yes, there are a bunch of players not used to it. For me, the potential for squad co-op being a deciding factor in victory is large and DICE appear to have made more effort to emphasise it than in a long time.
I could go on, but as I say, most comments can be answered with "it's a beta" if you are open-minded.
I've played many thousands of hours in Battlefield. I played about 50 hours each of BF5 and BF2042 before struggling for refunds because they were so NOT Battlefield and so disappointing.
The BF6 beta has many issues, but is better than both those were at release.
Also I think you guys are simply forgetting how BF2/3/4 actually were. You can still play Locker and Metro in BF4. Go remind yourself what Battlefield can be. Sure, what EA/DICE have chosen to showcase is more Metro than Caspian Border, but Liberation Peak is pretty much Siege of Shanghai but with smaller buildings and a mountain instead of a skyscraper and Siege of Cairo is pretty much Zavod without the roof campers.
The fact that Operation Firestorm is coming and more classic maps have been teased is very positive, no?
There is a lot DICE can do to change things considerably. Tightening the netcode and reducing some bullet damage and range would transform the TTK and TTD. The movement speed is actually less than BF4, but it could be made more grounded like BF1 with a few tweaks
Don't get me wrong, I think BF1 is still better overall, but BF1 was all about being better overall. I will still play BF1 because it is so good and so different.
But BF6 is 'worthy' I think. No, it isn't a complete return to 'old school' BF, but those days are gone, whether we want it or not.
For me a lot of what I don't like about BF6 is because it is like BF4. The jets being near unkillable and farming infantry. The snipers being such an irritation and ptfo suck (BF4 had many sniper limit servers). The rifles being cross-map lasers (remember tap-tap-crossmap death in BF4?). Even the broken shotguns are just like the sniper rifle CQC OHK.
Battlefield is lots of things to lots of people and we all have bits we didn't like. I love love love BF1, but there are lots of things I dislike in it.
I'm giving BF6 a chance. It's not BF5/BF2042. It might turn out good.

Exactly, we're literally playing BETA and people are acting like this is the full release.

It’s baffling how some people, completely out of touch with the last decade of gaming just keep parroting the same outdated nonsense about open betas and game development. This isn’t an alpha. What you’re seeing is what you’re getting. Stop acting like there’s going to be some magical turnaround in the next two months.

You're being a bit unhinged. I am happy you won't be getting the game.
I played 2042 enough to get my money worth but I will say BF6 so far feels closer to BF4, a bit clunky, my preference is BF3. Once the game is optimized and I look forward to playing and hope that people that are going on tirades about Beta just don't buy it.
It would save the rest of us that want to play a lot of time.
What feedback are you giving right now?
AND you know who plays this game like COD...COD players...if you played BF games and explored around the maps, you find much more success with the game.

Your comment doesn’t make sense. It’s a weird argument I see pop up every year for some reason.
Alright, here we go again.
What you percieve as "acting like this is the full release" is people giving feedback. To… A…. Beta…
The point of a beta is to test and give feedback. Be it criticism, positive and negative. Or if it is bad enough, complain.
Now, another thing that is really important to keep in mind, is that you will meet many who have been participating in beta or Early Access games for decades. And we are accustomed to see devs not listening to everything. So things stay the way they have been in the beta.
So keep that in mind
