BF6 Beta Feedback and Suggestions [DutchyMcDutch]

Suggestions:
Allow crawl movement while downed to move into a safe position for better revive, may be dependent on damage amount and type, e.g. explosive damage prevents downed movement, firearm damage allows.

Allow use of secondary weapon while downed, single hand aim or two hand aim down sight depending on severity and type of injury.

Vehicle health bars are a bit vague (white/gray) and should be easier to monitor in the corner of ones eye, either displaying damage as a red color, or moving the health bar to a more noticeable area or making it larger in size.

Grenade throws are not very realistic, they fly very slowly as if made out of styrofoam and weighing 50 grams, make them fly faster and farther. Could also introduce grenade cooking/throwing strength depending on how long the player holds the grenade key. So a tap is a slight arc very close by, and holding it throws the grenade further forwards in a straighter line.

The mount and climb mechanics are a bit picky, needing to be perfectly lined up. It should be way smoother to organically mount and climb on nearby obstacles and not need a specific location to hit the mount/climb mark. Trying to climb an obstacle at the same time as someone else causes both parties to be unable to climb the obstacle, possibly leading to griefing/trolling.

Icons, alerts and 'action' on the borders of the screen. Think local activity like a grenade going off, a teammate needing revive, an enemy shooting nearby, a nearby point being captured. The sides of the screen should have some indication of nearby events, noises or alerts as it is quite chaotic to handle the 360 degrees combat while being only 'aware' of about 120 degrees. The objects on the sides of your screen should essentially represent your ears.

Something I can't give a name to, only that it was achieved in COD BO1 and BO6 is the ability to answer "what could I do?" after death. In essence the reaction time in a 1v1 situation where you're reacting to the other player attacking you and have the opportunity to "do something" to prevent your death. I see many instances in my BF6 play where I notice there was nothing I could do to prevent death. Ideally there should always be something you could've done to prevent it in terms of reaction time. Hard to explain but I hope you get it, this is the stuff that makes or breaks games.
Ways to go about balancing this is tweaking health and damage modifiers, but also aim down sight speed, camera movement acceleration, hip fire accuracy, weapon swap speed, and agility related maneuvers like dodging, diving, ducking, etc. There's no combat sliding into cover, no hiding/peaking behind obstacles, no diving of any sort, and no dodge like abilities e.g. 'dashing' by tapping sprint once and not holding.

Will attach footage and more suggestions and issues as I play.

  • Unable to provide footage as it is not allowed on Xbox consoles. Shame as I encountered some serious bugs within a few hours, like being stuck inside a tank after spawning in one, unable to leave. I also cannot edit my original post, which is annoying as I want to clarify that diving is in fact an option to dodge, but it's more "hitting the deck" than diving. And peaking behind cover is a thing but it suffers from the same problems as climbing or mounting obstacles in that it doesn't work organically and needs a specific angle. And grenade throwing strength is a thing, although the distance and object flying speed is still slow, and grenade cooking would be nice. And the vehicle health bar does flash red when taking damage, but it is insufficient to properly notify the occupants.

Would be nice to be able to grab on to random ledges and destroyed building parts. For example a building is half destroyed and one can leap from one part to a higher part of the building by reaching a destroyed part that has an edge one should be able to grab on to, which right now you can't from mid air.

It's also rare to be revived. Even when there's 0 enemies around and you're in a safe place, faction members don't feel like reviving you for some reason. Perhaps it needs to be rewarded more or be made more obvious that somebody needs reviving.

Would be nice to be able to spot enemies and reveal them for my squad or faction outside of needing to be Recon class or aiming, like while being a passenger in an IFV. Would also be nice to spawn on tanks or LGT, not just squad ones.

Would also be nice to update and adjust my loadout during a match, and to be able to quickly switch between preset loadouts before a match, instead of having to edit loadout, as for example some matches might have air vehicles, and thus warrant anti-air gadgets, vice versa with urban maps that warrant mines.
Maybe extend the fire duration before overheating on the LGT turret, it seems a bit fast.
Also please make the default exit point for the IFV the rear where the door actually is, not a random point around it. Wanting to exit to repair the IFV and being placed in front of it is highly inefficient in a combat situation.

Maybe introduce more CQC type modes like FFA or TDM type matches other than domination where squad play is not obligated for the player that does not prefer to work in a squad, but solo in a team. And also of course to bring out the gunplay in a shorter more high octane matches than the typical conquest match.
