Chopper controls....

Whew. Not sure where to start on this one. Let's start with what I think is the resolution and then I'll list the issues. Devs, you need to go back and take the script for the controls of the BF3 and 4 choppers and just copy and paste them onto the new chopper. And here's why:

1) No one needs or wants to ONLY be able to maneuver towards where you are looking. What if I need to fly down quickly from my current position? In order to do that, you know where I have to look? Down. When you're sitting in a chopper seat and look straight down, what do you see? The seat in front of you. Not the Battlefield, not the the target. Just a seat. How close are you to ground when you finally look up? Right where you need to be to slam that chopper square into the ground. 
2) In order to stay in the air, a chopper pilot needs to attack the target and get back to cover as quickly as possible. That's not going to happen in your current look to fly control scheme. What made the choppers so effective was QUICKLY (I'm looking at you BF2042...) drop your rockets and return to cover before all the stinger missiles find you. Right now I'd have to SEE cover before I can actually go to it instead of just quickly taking evasive maneuvers.
3) I do like the fire where you look mechanic but having it turned on all the time is a no go. I don't want to fire at something if I'm not lined up with it and ready to retreat as soon as I destroy it. This needs to be a mechanic that the pilot can engage or disengage at will just like Free Look. It's not necessary all the time, just when you're trying to locate new targets.

Bottom line, the chopper controls are terrible. Maybe not to new comers to the series but with no "Classic" control option (and yes, I did try Legacy) you're going to take a nice steaming dump on the people who already know and love the chopper and are looking forward to using it again. Just something to consider while you work through all the open beta feedback.
