Feedback on Helicopter Controls in Battlefield 6

I’ve tried flying helicopters in Battlefield 6, and honestly, it’s been a frustrating experience. In just 10 minutes I’ve crashed 3 helicopters — not because of lack of skill, but because it’s nearly impossible to find a control setup that feels natural.

I’m not someone who demands extreme realism in games, but here the feeling is overly artificial: flying feels like moving in a 2D grid (up/down, left/right), with heavy assistance that kills any fluidity or ability to perform advanced maneuvers. On the other hand, if you try to remove assists for more control, the handling becomes clunky, unresponsive, and you end up crashing anyway.

A small anecdote to illustrate: on my second attempt at flying, I was on the ground trying to set up my controls so the helicopter would be even remotely maneuverable. The co-pilot started shooting RPGs at me to get the pilot seat. I swapped seats with him… and we lasted five seconds before crashing. This isn’t an isolated event — it’s common to see helicopters just flying straight into a mountain or hovering far up in the air to avoid being hit, because trying any low pass or evasive maneuver is almost guaranteed to end in a crash. Even with assists, the handling feels odd and sluggish, making it hard to dodge RPGs or react quickly.

There should be a quick “Veteran Battlefield” setup option that instantly restores the helicopter controls from previous titles like BF3/BF4. Those controls were more realistic, more fun, and allowed much cooler maneuvers. Right now, the system in BF6 feels like a step backwards.
