Orange doritos through smoke and dust

The visuals for the smoke and dust are great in BF6, however, the orange icons should just never be visible on your screen. Make it so you have to look at the minimap to get that info, which would both reduce the amount of UI clutter on the screen, and would let you use the dust and smoke as potential visual cover when moving through the map instead of it being purely visual. This would also work for weather effects on maps, where you have rain and fog roll in and the entire effect not being ruined by orange blobs to shoot at. It ruins immersion entirely as well imo. It would also reward players who are truly paying attention to their surroundings versus players relying on the shooting gallery targets showing up. Tanks in smoke also get a bit burnt on it as you can just shoot them through the smoke because of it a lot easier. Spotting is already very powerful and making the blips show up in your actual view is both ugly and unfun

It does bother me how most influencers are not talking about this. I'm always seeing players that i shouldn't. It does take immersion away, and is very impactful in gameplay. Makes the time to kill complaint more relevant because you're always spotted, when you could be taking cover tactically to minimize visibility. The lean over mechanic heavilly benefits not beeing spotted. I would like manual lean, but that's the least of my concerns.

Yeah I agree, it feels like people spot you flanking accidentally and not because they're actually paying attention. And being perfectly tracked through dust and debris just feels awful both as the person getting shot and the one shooting imo, it's very unrewarding to get those kills. I also find the visual clutter of the doritos completely take me out of it. I found the game fun but I never really felt immersed?

  • I'm 100% with this...all I saw was red squares all over the place even behind cover and in smoke etc....get rid of the enemy red squares or have them only pop up when you shoot enemy showing you hit them. But they then go back away. Cant be stealthy at all in this beta....I pray that gets fixed and not in the actual game. That ruined it for me. Rest of game I didn't have much complaints besides the red squares. Id literally move behind cover and would be getting shot at in 4 different directions just because my red square when trying to move up or flank etc.
