Personal Criticism from BF6 Beta

So Close You Can Almost Taste It!

This is the game I’ve been waiting for! We’re not done yet though. There are some issues I’d like to address. It’s been a week since the Beta and I have a critiques ready. Here we go!

1. Reloads
Vaulting should NOT cancel the animation. Climbing walls, yes. Also, something I’ve been wanting for a long time in any installment is “half-reloads” . Where the new magazine or ammo source is inserted and you have to climb or switch weapons/gadgets etc. The animation should not start completely over. It should pick up where it left off.

2. Grenades/ RPG/ 40mm
Grenades: Lob distance and damage is okay and I’m okay with the small red indicator. There needs to be more delay with the throw. This isn’t Halo, have them pull the pin. 
RPG: I thought they were fine all around. 
40mm: only issue was a leaf 2m in front of me setting the explosive off.

3. Revives
Love the new “drag mechanic”. Would love to be able to bring up the commands to “thank” my reviver while being revived. Not a big fan of LMG Support also being medic. Not something that will really exist on the Battlefield so I disagree. Also having two actions on reviving is awkward. Console: why have me pull out defib’s to revive and have the extra button? Just make the befib the solo action with the button or something. Flawed mechanic IMO.

4. Carbines being a gadget is weird. Same goes for the shotgun. I like the BF4 weapons distribution the most. So yes, LOCK THE CLASSES. If the classes ain’t locked, in ain’t Battlefield IMO.

5. Starting combat Load
It needs a bit more to begin with. I should be able to change my ammo source at least 4 times before I need resupply. The Engineer and Assault class was the worst.

6. Sniper glint
It is a bit much. Could use a slight tone down. Maybe add an attachment that dims the glint but also reduces view. 

12. Spotting
It did seem like a lot of red diamonds would pop up. Then I played recon and noticed they can spot the **bleep** out of the map. They have gadgets and can get XP to call in UAVs. That needs to be dialed back. Same goes for the “auto-spot”. Should not be able to spot through smoke, unless looking through Thermals. Spitting while down is okay but there needs to be a way to deter it. I like the idea of being able “finish off enemies”, this will add extra tactics. It can prevent a revive and deter a spotter. 

13. Movement
I thought movement was okay. However, I did see the ability to slide-jump a bit more frequently than I’d like. A decent slide after gaining momentum is okay. You should not be able to change direction mid-slide, or ADS. I’m okay with an inaccurate hip fire sliding and going into prone. 

14. Other small glitches I saw aren’t worth mentioning here. 

Since some may wonder where my opinion comes from: played BF Vietnam,3, 4, 1, & V. Had bad feelings on 2142 and never played. I’m okay with never playing it still. I used to play COD as well. They have completely lost it. It’s sad. I’m a Marine Infantry Rifleman Vet. I don’t care for skins, I don’t care for “neon nonsense”. I don’t care for stylish takedowns or cool sayings. Give us Battlefield. Give us maps that can be destroyed. Maps that have dynamic weather systems and random changes halfway through. Lock our classes, keep COD antics out and please allow server browsing!! Thank for reading.

    Red icons above the enemies are total disaster. This spotting feature allows easy blind killing while the enemies are covered with smoke or dust. It looks like some cheating feature embedded into the game:
