Proposal: Bring Back the Dedicated Medic Class in Battlefield 6
Hi DICE Team,
One of the biggest strengths of Battlefield has always been its clear role system:
Assault for pushing
Support for ammo
Recon for spotting
Medic for revives/healing
With Medic merged into Assault, the gameplay balance and class identity feel weaker.
Why bring back a dedicated Medic class?
Pros:
Teamplay & Identity: Medics are the backbone of squads. Healing and reviving should be their main role, not just a side-feature.
Better Balance: Assault already has the strongest weapons. Adding strong healing and reviving makes them too versatile. A dedicated Medic using SMGs or carbines keeps the balance right.
Improved Squad Survival: Dedicated Medics encourage teamwork, letting squads push harder and hold objectives longer.
Game Flow: Medics reduce constant respawning and keep battles alive, which makes matches feel more dynamic.
Cons (and why they’re worth it):
Fewer people may pick Medic compared to Assault, but that’s part of class balance. Not every class needs to be equally popular, just equally important.
Lone wolves may feel disadvantaged, but Battlefield has always been about squads, not solo play.
Weapon restrictions for Medics can feel limiting, but that’s what keeps class roles distinct and balanced.
Conclusion:
Merging Medic with Assault blurs the lines and weakens Battlefield’s class system. Bringing back a dedicated Medic class would restore the classic Battlefield identity: teamwork, balance, and role specialization. Assault should focus on raw firepower, and Medic should focus on keeping squads alive. Both deserve to exist separately for the best Battlefield experience.
