Short and sweet. Please remove the weapon spread/bloom effect when shooting for extended periods of time, its a frustrating effect that only adds an rng element to gunfights. Instead make the felt recoil while aiming more of a factor, encouraging the development of recoil control skills. And maybe make the time to kill a little tad bit slower.
this was how BF3 and 4 were like. Personally while I am struggling to get used to it again, I welcome the change from bullet hosing into burst firing to reduce bloom
Try tap fire. This was how it was like and it's less extreme than BF3 and 4. I think they balanced it well. When you tap-fire it mitigates the spread massively.
they should at least animate the sights (and weapon) to move to where you are blooming. seems like a game mechanic of a bygone era to give counter-strike style hipfire bloom to ADS fire. i dont understand how the bullets can deviate so much from your point of aim.
You are right it does mitigate it. My problem with that is that it makes gunfights feel unnatural. Even if it was apart of BF 3 and 4 it feels wrong, they should just increase felt recoil and make that the skill factor.
Fair point, but I think that more felt recoil would stop bullet hosing from miles away but still allow consistent damage to be dealt at closer ranges. I find that the bloom screws me over at ranges of like 15 to 25 feet away which is silly.
Why did they keep it in the game for freak sake. If they are afraid of people laser beaming just increase gun kick or recoil and leave bloom / random spread when aiming down the sight out of the game please.
I'm fine with both, more like BFV, where the bullet goes wherever your gun is pointing at, or how it is now.
It's not really a problem for me, I played BFV a lot before and I generally like the gunplay there. I would dislike it if it was even more like BF3 or 4 tbh, because there, the bullets actually went all over the place, and once suppressed, you could forget about hitting anything a bit further away.
I just hope they don't make any major changes that **bleep** stuff up. If they can change how recoil works towards more like BFV, I'd be happy too
I have to disagree slightly. While I agree that bloom needs to go, I would say that based on real-life experiences with firearms, where the reticle is pointed is not always where the bullet goes, especially under recoil.
I dont think it should go away entirelly... but i do agree on it being way too much right now, they need to play a bit with the numbers, and turn it down a whole lot.
Agree with making the recoild harder to control to compensate for it.
are you nuts? Come from a hole in a basement? Tad bit slower? one to two shots. they need to up damage. rpg cant kill anyone unless it htis them directly they need to fix that! MORE REALISTIC? want something else dont ruin bf... go play halo or cod.
Pretty sure in bf3 and bf4 it was way less than it is now... You didnt tap fire, you made short bursts and it felt so much better. Pretty sure spread is WAY too much on this beta, way much than it was on bf3 and bf4... they need to dial it down a fair ammount, and make recoil harder to control to compensate for it... But just looking at gameplay (because we dont really have numbers for this game yet) it seems and feels way more on this one than it was on bf3 and bf4.
bro needs more in real life experience then, former US army, With iron sights and fast follow up, I can hit upto 400m away. scores 39 out of 40 on 300m range several times, the one i missed not the 300m. An ar platform is extremely accurate unless your using something stupid that shouldnt be there...
Cod sucks and wasn't good since 2012 and halo dropped off after reach, so no. you clearly missed the point of my post dawg, im talking about bloom/spread while aiming. so get your thumb out your behind and make a post yourself giving feedback about the rpg. (which i agree with you btw)
I agree with you but i think they should just commit to a system of felt recoil only rather than bloom or spread, its frustrating. But i mean if they at least tone it down i wouldn't be opposed to that either.
bloom should stay and everyone just needs to get better at it, its a great switch up from what other titles are bringing out for games. everyone needs to remember that dice is not only going to have the attachments we see in beta, were prolly going to see a load of attachment that drastically make the gun even better so the whole bloom problem may be reduced. seems like a very good way to balance guns. #REALISM ALL THE WAY
(edit) i would like to add going back and playing previous bf games, there's "bloom" in most
From FN Herstal, NDIA Small Arms Systems Symposium, Exhibition and Firing Demonstration May 23 - 26, 2011
Original USMC IAR performance specification for full-auto accuracy Threshold: 11 MOA, Objective: 6 MOA Both threshold and objective are met by the IAR and Heavy Barrel SCAR
I'm firing full auto from prone with an "M4A1" which isn't exactly an IAR or SCAR either, but we can assume that the M4A1 should meet threshold MOA and be close to objective MOA set for the USMC HAMR project
The target on the left is at around 100 yards, and the back wall is at around 120 yards. The shoulder width of an adult male is on average 15 inches, so tell me, does this look like a 6 MOA (full auto) rifle or more like a 15 MOA?
#REALISM ALL THE WAY
And anyway, the point isn't to make the game as realistic as possible. Stingers have a maximum range of something like 800m in-game while they should be around 4000m, and many other unrealistic representations of weapon systems. Everything has to be gamified and balanced to make the gameplay enjoyable, and anyone who wants full on realism have the choice to play milsims like Arma. In my opinion, it feels like dogsh*t to watch my bullets go 5 inches off to the side of where my point of aim is. If they want to prevent players from 'laser beaming' people at long range, at least animate the weapon so that it corresponds to where the bullets are going.
Thanks for your service, i guess? But shooting on a flat range is not the same as shooting while on the move with an elevated heart rate and adrenaline flowing through your veins...like say, IPSC or a local 3-gun match...let alone in a situation where the targets are shooting at you. Parallax, posture, positioning, and rate of fire all matter my dude. Try picking your belly up off the shooting mat once in a while.
We agree then, bloom is bad. Recoil is the answer. Honestly, I think all shots need to eminate from the barrel, not the dot. If it was from the dot, then shooting from cover will become a deeply problematic issue in the game. People will take shots without putting their guns over cover as we've seen in past titles and other games when they've done similar things.
I will download BF4 again and try it out because I don't remember it being this bad there. idk if it is because I primarily play with the LMG, but the LMG feels like it can't hit **bleep**, and even when it hits, it takes too long to kill people. i see people killing me with the SMG with 3 shots from up close, while I will get 5 hitmarks with the LMG, and people just don't die. And what is the point of having an LMG if i can't fire accurate 10 to 20 round bursts.
