A few improvements need to be made for rush.

Rush has always been 12vs12. Its a smaller game mode. If you want a higher player count you should play breakthrough. That's why they invented breakthrough...
battle field 4 had 64 player rush, and it was fun as hell, but the maps where much larger. i am all for increasing player count in rush BF 6 as long as the increase the size of the maps for the higher player count. cant just 'add mode' without adjusting map size. especially with how small the maps are currently.
You must have no played Bf3 or Bf4 where a majority of people played 32v32 or 24v24 the lowest it ever went on Bf4 was 16v16.
