Since when is battlefield just point and click sniping?...Sniping in battlefield used to require skill due to bullet drop and this game just feels like C.O.D...I am heavily disappointed in this game

My issue for the sniper rifle was that garbage short dot reticle and LPVO that belongs on a AR or DMR and not a sniper rifle.
Funnily enough, I felt perfectly comfortable rocking the 4x ACOG on the bolt action, due to the map size.
And as far as the DMR, they are far too weak in their current state. No reason to choose them over a sniper or any other gun.
Brother, you are absolutely correct. I also don't know if it was oversight or what but the SVK DOES Not belong doing two hit headshots.
That thing fires 8.6x70 (.338 Lapua Magnum) Which is a LONG RANGE Hunting/Sniper rifle round.
The M2010 ESR fires .300 Winchester Magnum. If the M2010 kills in a single headshot, the SVK needs to kill in a single headshot as well.
If we want realistic damage models we’ll just have to play hardcore when it comes out.
In the core experiences if the semi-automatic rifles one-shot headshot then the bolt actions are obsolete. There is a middle ground that has to be found. I believe that middle ground lies in reducing recoil and buffing rate of fire.
You are missing the point. It's about the caliber. BF4 has a Semi-auto Sniper rifle. the SR-338. One shot head shots. Does anyone use it? Me, and that is about it. Bolt actions are not obsolete, only poorly chosen bolt actions would be obsolete. BTW. When you put the DLC/Straight pull bolts on sniper rifles in BF games.... It essentially makes it a low ROF Semi-Auto in function.
As a Marine who served as a Designated Marksman, the there is no discernible difference between sniper rifles and designated marksman rifles of full caliber nature. If they wanted to have designated marksman rifles they should have put an M38 in there vs an M39. That was originally used as a sniper rifle anyway. The only reason why DM's use Semi/Full Auto weapons is because of moving with the Fireteam/Squad. A bolt gun only makes you .0999% more stealthy than a semi gun as a sniper because you don't have an action cycling unless you need it to, therefore not ejecting brass when you don't want it to.
