I agree, its the same as glint but for everyone. They need to tone it down so that people hiding in bushes can't see it and/or make it difficult to find unless you are looking for it. (By default smoke or hiding behind cover should break auto spot unlessyou are manually pinged)
Someone else had the same idea and i agree that adding those dots to the minimap instead of the field would make more sense that way you know in which direction to look but requires more spacial awareness.
