Suggestions for Gameplay Balance and Quality Improvements
I've been playing quite a few hours these past days and I’d like to share some possible improvements for different aspects of the game. I’ll divide them into categories:
INFANTRY / CLASSES
Overall, I would remove the automatic time-based resupply of equipment to encourage teamwork. It would feel more immersive if players had to rely on support-class teammates for resupply rather than having items like C4 automatically replenish after a few seconds.
SUPPORT
I’m not sure if this mechanic is working as intended, but the defibrillator can currently be spammed to revive multiple players very quickly. A short cooldown could help prevent abuse of this feature.
ENGINEER
The STINGER anti-air launcher has too high a rate of fire. The player carries five disposable launchers, which is quite excessive. Personally, I would reduce this to two and slightly increase the lock-on time. I would also prevent players from carrying both an RPG and a STINGER at the same time.
Instead, I’d consider introducing a multi-purpose launcher, effective against both ground and air targets, less powerful than the STINGER but more versatile.
In general, I think a single engineer has too much firepower against both ground and air targets.
I would also reduce RPG ammo from 5 to 3 and increase the reload time for them.
RECON
Reducing the amount of C4 from 3 to 1 charge would be advisable—or at least remove time-based replenishment, as mentioned earlier.
VEHICLES
Overall, I feel vehicle customization is lacking (I’m not sure if it’s planned), with features like missile jammers for aircraft, thermal cameras for pilot/copilot, self-repair abilities in flight, etc. I hope this becomes available when the game launches.
At the moment, playing with helicopters or planes is extremely difficult due to the issues I mentioned with STINGERs. It’s hard to deal with snipers targeting the pilot, engineers firing a constant barrage of anti-air missiles, tanks taking long-range shots, anti-air vehicles, and players trying to hit you with RPGs. Air vehicles are highly exposed (visible from almost anywhere on the map) and don’t have the destructive power that other elements of the game do.
TANKS (Light and Heavy)
Once again, I would remove automatic resupply to encourage teamwork. It would be great if engineers could build or repair resupply stations in captured zones. Time-based resupply feels a bit anticlimactic and, in my opinion, doesn’t add much to the overall experience.
REPAIRS
There’s a lack of visual indicators for helicopter and aircraft pilots showing where they should go to be repaired. There is a location at the base, but no markers directing you there.
It could also be interesting to add airports or aircraft carriers where you can land to resupply, although I understand this may not be part of the current plan.
