You are correct to some extent but people are missing one thing. Yes, CS and Valorant are smaller and simpler. However, when you have 64 players a side the server can and will only update so many times a second for each player. If that is exceeded, something has to give, that is where the anomalies happen. Game play stops being smooth and "fair." Companies are trying to cater to "all" players for the most profits and those who are most competitive have to suffer. Should it be this way? Is this fairness? Look at how long it has taken EA to "take cheating in BF seriously." Am I saying all FPS games need to have 128Hz servers? No, but if they don't want complaints and more people to play their game and want their audience to think their games are "fair," they would. Maybe the beta servers are not capable and the final release instances will be beefier depending on how well sales go. I do not know. What I can say is, when BF was on private servers, this wasn't really an issue. Having the ability to kick lagging players, cheaters, and set the game up how you wanted to play was the best. These companies took that away from the player base and forced us to "suffer together." All in the name of profits and look what online gaming has become because of it!
