Forum Discussion
Hi,
So, I will be speaking from the perspective of the average user. Imagine you are going to go to open your fridge, but the fridge company says “you have to unplug your fridge, disassemble it, and then reassemble it” and now you can open it. Yes, the end result is opening it. But what happens during the “unplug, disassemble, reassemble” part? The possibility of breaking your internal components. Why, if the company was designed to make a fridge, would they require you take a step beyond just owning it, to use it? Yes, you MAY have help defending your game with secure boot, but the user is being taken advantage of, the chances of bricking your pc with Secure Boot IS VERY HIGH. It requires research beyond what 90%+ of the population can even do, this is not a “quick change”. It is an extremely intensive change that could result in terrible issues. Please PLEASE before rolling something like this out, maybe you should do a survey, or a focus group, or literally anything to figure out what’s best for your end user. Thank you.
