the bad part is disabling crossplay also makes it platform specific. xbox only or ps5 only. I agree the game NEEDS to be PC only and console to console crossplay. I dont even want it to be input based cuz as soon as cheaters start flooding a game i will abandon it on my pc and only play it on console. I know console has xim and cronus issues but what pc can have is often far worse.
separating console and pc also helps the whole "mnk is OP"or "controller is OP" arguments, and developer trying to balance for both. while the people crying on either side are usually just lower skilled players who whant to make loud enough noises to where the developer hopefully balances the game around their preferred input to squeeze out any edge they can.
Crossplay between pc and console has always been good in theory, allowing friends to play, and in many game genres its great. But NOT in FPS games its NEVER balanced games like halo with slower movement high ttk no recoil favor controller. Games like BF with fast movement low ttk favor MNK. Mixing or balancing for a middle ground just makes everyone angry.
