What I like and dislike, from a OG BF fans perspective

Hey guys!

32 year old BF fan here. I fell in LOVE with Battlefield way back in the bad company days, but even before that I was a HUGE fan of BF Modern Combat as well. As well as BF3 and 4 and even BF1 I consider some of the best games this franchise has ever produced. Hell maybe even the best games EA ever produced as far as shooters go.

Anyways, I have basically completed all my challenges, fully leveled all my guns, and done everything there is to do in the BF6 beta

And there is ALOT I really really like... Lets  go into it

  1. NO TACTICAL SPRINT! I love this! BF6's movement feels fast, but not quite as cracked out as 2042 or BFV. It feels great IMO. Sprinting feels weighty, yet at the same time there is no crazy inertia effects or anything of the sort that muddies it up. Its clean, quick, responsive movement without going into crack head ADHD territory.
  2. Back to a MODERN SETTING! I LOVE this!
  3. The weapons FEEL great (for the most part) Everything feels well balanced so no gun is just WAY better than all the others. All guns are viable in this game!
  4. The attachment system gives a gun nut like me a chubby, can I say that here? Ima say that here!
  5. The GUNS themselves... GREAT SELECTION... We got the Galil ACE gen 2, We got the M4A1, we got the MPX and the MP7...All awesome guns im glad they added to the game. Im excited to see what else they release with!
  6. The map design. SO MUCH BETTER THN 2042. These maps, they could be bigger... but they actually have FLOW in this game! I dont feel like im just spawning into 6 guys trying to snipe me anymore in a flat parking lot or field! Awesome!
  7. The vehicles feel GREAT. I love being a Tank gunner. Also engineer class feels less pathetic, as well as the Recon class when it comes to fighting vehicles. One thing I hated about BF2042 is how much damage it took to kill a tank. This game (BF6) feels a lot more like BF3 and 4 in that regard and that's a step in the right direction.
  8. The sound design is immersive, chaotic, and adrenaline pumping at times. Especially after one of those big "BF moments"

Now.... Things I would like to see done better!

  1. The TTK/TTD feels awful at times. I don't think its the hit registration itself, I think its more likely net code, server stability, possibly a low tick rate contributing to what people perceive as hit reg or TTK being out of wack. And it 100% is at times. You'll get so many hit markers on a guy. and them not die. This is due to dsync I think and client side servers hiding lag... Now this might be a isolated opinion, but when it comes to lag, ide rather feel it and know this server is no good, than it be hid from me, everything feels fine and then I get in a gun fight where the guy kills me in 2 shots with a MPX, and I put 16 shots in his chest and face with an AK205 and he still has 30 health or some **bleep**. No exaggeration here. This needs to be toned down to make the TTK/TTD FEEL BETTER. I don't mind a fast TTK in a game like this. But if its taking 4-5 hits with your average assault rifle to kill a guy with full HP, then I want it to FEEL like im also eating 4-5 hits before I die. So it doesn't feel like such a mind f***. I really do not like client side fast paced shooter like this, ide rather feel the lag so I know im not going crazy when I see goofy stuff happen like what im talking about.
  2. Maps feel kind of small, all be it, dense. But small. Too small for a BF game. I really hope Dice got some big maps they're hiding in their closet for us... These maps we got are great and fun but they're medium maps at best. HOWEVER, ide rather have smaller, dense maps than big open parking lots so.. its not all bad I guess. At least these maps have some sort of flow to them.
  3. Some of the weapons kind of feel underpowered.. In the beta I would say its the AK205 and the MP7 that are mostly underpowered. While the shotgun is supremely broken! I do like that the shotgun is one hit kill... but maybe lower its range by something like 25% to keep it balanced. Cause rn its probably the most broken gun in the game.
  4. Hardcore mode. We NEED a hardcore mode. Im talking double damage, NO scope glint, NO hud, NO third person view while driving vehicles, friendly fire ON, And locked classes, where there can only be so many of one class on the field, and as a class, you can only use the class specific weapons and gear. No Engineer snipers on Hardcore mode. Please. lol Thats my thoughts! I think this game has alot of potential to reinvigorate the franchise as long as they keep EA's buisiness vampires in check and keep on the right path this game is going to be a BANGER. I dont think 100 million players is very realistic but this will most likely be the best BF game they have released since BF1.

  • Maps (size, layout and number of players) are the biggest problem at the moment. Which has me worried, because this was one of the biggest problems with 2042.

Hope the maps we got were some of the smaller ones and that they're hiding the big ones.

If this is not a case they could simply reduce the number of players to lower the pacing somehow.

I agree, and hope so too.

I don't think EA would show us the best of what they have to offer on a beta like this. It would be a smarter move to underwhelm us a bit and then hit us over the head with some of the biggest and best maps this team has ever produced. I hope the same thing happens with the weapons. While I really like the weapons we got in this beta, I just really hope this game releases with a TON of different weapons. Ide like to see everything from regular **bleep** AKM's to CMMG Mutants. Ide like to see bull pups like the Tavor, the Hellion and the MDR make it into this game. Ide like to see things like the saiga or the spas 12. It just needs a ton of guns lol, and gun attachments too.

I also think it would be cool to have a game mode, something small and simple like TDM where the weapon customization is uncapped and you can just do some really crazy **bleep** to these guns and see what happens. But this should no way take any sort of priority. We arent trying to get CoD. BUT I just think a small game mode like TDM or Domination where they dont cap what you can put on a gun would be interesting.
