BF6 – No sound with Apple AirPods Max on Windows 11 (Bluetooth driver issue)
Issue: No sound with Apple AirPods Max on Windows 11 when starting BF6
I’m experiencing a sound issue when using my Apple AirPods Max via Bluetooth on Windows 11.
Whenever I start Battlefield 6, all audio in Windows stops working — not just the game audio, but also music, browsers, Discord, etc. The headset stays connected, but there is no sound at all.
The initial intro video actually plays with audio, but as soon as it reaches the “waiting in queue” screen, the sound stops completely. Even when there is no queue, the audio stops right at the “press space to start” screen.
When I close the game, all other audio sources start working again automatically after a few seconds.
Here’s what I’ve already tried with no success:
Uninstalled and reinstalled the default Windows Bluetooth audio driver
Changed the USB port for the Bluetooth adapter
Restarted Windows multiple times
Other games work perfectly fine with the same headset, so this seems to be an issue specific to BF6’s compatibility with the Windows Bluetooth audio driver for AirPods Max.
Is there any known fix or workaround for this problem?
