Drastic cpu usage stutters (~30s intervals)

This beta has been a cluster**bleep** for me in terms of performance. On my desktop I was experiencing consistent time nudge issues where I had insane amounts of latency & entity rubber banding. My cpu usage on my desktop was at 100% constantly, so I concluded that my specs might be lagging behind a bit (ryzen 5 5600x). So, I moved to my laptop, which clearly has good enough specs for this game (ryzen 9 5900x, geforce 3600 gpu). At first I was happy because the game was running smoothly for the first minute or so. However, for the rest of the match I was constantly getting insane amounts of fps lag (~5fps) and time nudge spikes (~2000ms) which lasted for about 10 seconds each time. Then after the spike ended I was back up to normal performance with 6ms time nudge and 70 fps. During the match I did some testing, and found that my cpu & gpu were dropping from 50% and 80% usage down to 10% usage each, making my whole pc basically unusable for 10 seconds. During the testing I also noticed that the game thinks that I have double the amount of cpu cores that I actually have in the graphics performance overlay. It thinks that I have 16 cores & 16 threads, when I only have 8 cores & 16 threads. I tried setting the correct values in the user.cfg file, but it only changes the thread amount rather than the core amount. I would assume that this is the root of the issue, but I don't know what to do. Someone help pls.

USER.CFG

perfoverlay.drawfps 1

worldrender.lighttilecspathenable 0

worldrender.motionblurenable 0

worldrender.motionblurradialblurmax 0

worldrender.motionblurquality 0

worldrender.motionblurmaxsamplecount 0

Thread.JobThreadPriority 0

# Thread.MinUnusedProcessorCount 0

Thread.ProcessorCount 8

Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8

# Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0

GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8

  • Guys I fixed it by turning off the ea overlay. But without the overlay my fps is now HALVED. Thanks ea.

  • Experiencing the same issues; highly frequent drops in FPS in intervals of 10 secs or less. CPU seems to increase to 100% in these moments. I'm on an Intel CPU (14600KF).
