EA Account ineligible for Linking with PSN?

Hi everyone,

I just spent several hours attempting to get my EA account to link with my PSN account to no avail!  I was not able to play the beta last weekend of this weekend.  The representative said he could not find my PSN account (???) and resorted to have me change my DNS (???)  among other questionable methods of getting my EA and PSN account to link.  

This is ... really frustrating.  Has anyone else had issues with their EA account writ large - not connection problems, not anything else, just straight up EA.com > PSN linking?  I was told to reach out to Sony which absolutely makes no sense as they do not handle the linking process.
