Re: Driver error with AMD GPU

So some background on my specs:
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics
GPU: Radeon RX 6800M
RAM: 16 GB

When launching the beta, I am met with the popup "Detected AMD Radeon driver version 23.19.23.11. The required driver version is 25.10.13.1 or later." What is interesting is that my dedicated GPU is at version 25.10.25.1, but my integrated GPU is at 23.19.23.11. Both of these drivers are up-to-date.

I also did some testing. I decided to run the AMD Cleanup Utility and then reinstall the driver for the RX 6800M. At this point, there is no driver for the integrated GPU. I was then able to successfully launch the game and mess with the settings, albeit at a very low framerate. Afterwards, I reinstalled the driver for the integrated GPU, but the problem returned.

I have attempted to use System > Display > Graphics to force Windows to launch BF6 with the dedicated GPU, but to no avail. I'm wondering if it is a technical bug with the beta and it's not properly reading my GPU, or if I am missing something.

I am also aware of the workaround described here (https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/1mho5gi/bf6_open_beta_driver_error_fix/), but I am a bit anxious with messing with my registry. And plus, I'm not sure if it is approved by EA.

Cheers.

Yeah, I tried it and it works. I'm just hoping there will be another solution. I also don't have much experience tweaking the registry before, so it made me a bit worried I'd mess something with my machine.

Follow the reddit post. People are doing it. Maybe watch a youtube tutorial. Make sure to backup that specific folder before modifying so that you can restore later on. The playtest starts on 7th of August. So if you're gonna do it, now is the time.

I'm aware of it, and I've already done it for some time. I'm just hoping for a more official solution as well.

I have an RX 6800 and I had AMD Software version 25.10.1 and was having the same issue. I went to AMD's website and saw that version 25.8.1 was available. I saw that some people had installed that version and it worked. So I did that and it worked. The game ran.
