Been having the same issue on the beta. Sounds like my character is partially deaf or something, only faintly can hear gunshots. No footsteps or anything low volume. Issue was resolved after changing from regular conquest to weapon locked conquest. No restart so I don't even know if that fix will work for you I also turned on the Wartapes V.A.L audio mode and it seems to be helping.
