Re: Battlefield 6: CPU at 100%, GPU barely used — Performance issues?
First, my PC specifications are as follows: CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x, 32GB RAM, and RTX 3080 GPU. I confirmed that my computer meets the recommended specifications provided by the developer and enjoyed the open beta. However, after running the game, the CPU usage spiked to 100%, though the temperature remained below an average of 60°C, and the GPU usage was at 50%. Additionally, even with the game set to FHD resolution and all settings at the lowest, the frame rate dropped to 60–70 FPS during combat, and I experienced significant inconvenience due to sudden FPS drops at critical moments.
I don’t believe this is a normal phenomenon. While I understand that the Ryzen 5 5600x is a CPU that was released some time ago, my PC specifications meet the recommended requirements, not just the minimum requirements specified by the developer. I don’t necessarily expect my PC to smoothly run the game at QHD with high or ultra settings, but I do think it’s reasonable to expect at least 100 FPS at FHD with all settings turned to the lowest. If the developers are aware that this is not a normal situation, that the CPU optimization is still incomplete, and that these issues will be resolved by the time of the official release, that would be a great relief. However, if this is the final product, I would be truly disappointed and deeply concerned. (Of course, I plan to upgrade my PC in the future.)
I am a fan of the Battlefield series, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing this open beta test, which has made me incredibly excited for the game. However, I sincerely hope the developers will address this CPU optimization issue.
