Wild.

Well, have you tried some other Windows repairs?  Command Prompt > 

sfc /scannow
DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

With something still pointing you to Driver Verifier and it no longer there... I am wondering if there is some corruption somewhere...?

    I'll have to run another check when I get to my computer and run these at CMD later.

    I'm having the same problem. I've followed your steps and the commands seemed to repair some files, and both VerifyDriver files are in RegEdit but it's still giving the same error message 55
