I'm with you on the Pro-side. And also mostly on the Contra-side.
However, I do like the "zero-in" mechanic more, than, having a bullet drop after 10 meters flying distance.
The repair problem is indeed frustrating, especially when you're playing AT, ESPECIALLY considering that every class has now a class ability (WTF DICE?) and the engineers can repair twice as fast.
The Launcher problem existed in earlier BFs as well, however with the enhanced destruction feature, they are a bit more nasty. I find the fire nades to be more irritating than the HE ones though.
I also do not mind the shotguns, as they are supposed to be strong in CQB. I DO mind the rapid falloff in dmg, if it is not point blank range, and funnily enough, point blank they are SO accurate, that you even miss wholly, when your reticle does not fully cover the enemy, making accuracy mods actually bad on them (because of the high dmg fall off). Even Slugs feel weak here.
The revive problem is a people problem. Since DICE always wants a higher audience for their games than before (why push veterans away though?) more and more people need to learn and adapt. And in times of social media, the attention span is so little, that this might...take a while.
I am okay with the Tank splash damage. Tanks should feel scary for infantry, that's what the AT-class is for (and your own tank).
Maps are indeed mostly too small (ironic, considering 2142s problem was the opposite). However, this IS a beta, and we do not yet know all the maps.
I'll add to the Pro-side:
- destruction level is awesome
- sound design feels quite good
- Jet controls feel good (cannot yet talk about choppers)
- distinguishable camo for either side
- soldiers look like soldiers again (hopefully this does not change with the introduction of skins)
- corner peak, and even mount mechanics for the weapons
I'll add to the Contra-side:
- no additional sensitivity option for jets (or I haven't found them yet)
- aircraft flares recharge too fast
- no BF-Theme outside of winning a round :(
- only quick-play available (though I am aware, that this is a beta, and might change)
- unlimited sprinting (a problem that bugs me since BF3)
- weapons often feel too accurate when firing in full auto
- reticle should take WAY longer to align/become accurate when coming out of sprinting or jumping
- knee sliding
- the option to bleed out faster (why, when you have to wait for a respawn anyway?)
- no option to additionally shout for a medic when downed to gain attention from medics running past, or the ones not looking in your direction
- not fully stacked equipment on spawn (yes you can be "resupplied" with another smoke and even additional gadgets even after spawning anew)
- ABSOLUTELY convoluted menus with seemingly no actual thought of categories
- weapon mods accessed through "modify" and an additional "customize" feels...weirdly unhandy
- modifications don't seem to change weapon behaviour that much (can be pro or con, personal preference)
- too many suppressor options...
- no adjustable HUD (stuck with the minimap on the bottom left, the worst actual place for me -.-)
- radio chatter not loud enough (remember BF2, when cries for ammo and pick ups where actually heard?)
- no commander mode
- "move to" (aka green context marker) should have a line drawn to it on the minimap (more a suggestion than a critique)
- FOV SLIDER IN MP GAMES, seriously, create a FOV and stick with it (recoil behaves differently, and some people see more than others; balancing much?)
- not being able to run around when the game has not yet enough players to start takes away the opportunity to learn some mechanics, learn some vecles, and maybe even the map
- player compass switched off by default (why even make the option to switch it off?)
- unlocked weapon game modes (this is Battlefield, remember?)
Edited for spelling mistakes.
