Re: Battlefield 6 Season 3 Performance and Netcode Issues

Fix the game.

You made it, you tested it, you even play it.

I'm done caring what you say quite frankly, you are protecting noobs, and bad players, I'm far from the best player in the world, but my experience has been utter dog excrement, for the last 15 years, every day, every game, 99% of the time.

Yes it's battlefield, you can die fast, I know, the few and fleeting moments the game works for me, I slaughter everyone, then it stops working and literally the same people I just nemesis pinned, miraculously stop dying when I shoot them, and I die instantly, just like the other 99% of the time.

It's blatant fraud, you're stroking the egos of noobs and the incessant cry baby campers, who expect everyone to stop jumping around and stand still while they shoot them.

Spare me the generic gibberish jargon, your connection is bad, Really? Consistent 21 ping, full fibre 1000mbps down, 900mbps up, or it's a skill issue, I've played for 21 years, I've been Dying instantly for 15 years, and even when I'm dying instantly I can move, flank, take cover, and seriously whittle down the HP of a level 27 console player who should have died 3 times by the time I'm done.

The game is a joke, not as big of a joke as the look on the shareholders faces when 90% of the concurrent players left.

I've put up with it for far to long, you advertise a fun fast paced action arcade shooter that features realism. It's not realistic when I have to shoot the worlds population of noobs and bad players, 2-3 times more than they have to shoot me, it's the only consistency I've had since bf3. It's not realistic when a reload can cancel itself at any time, especially when it's literally at 0.000001% near the end of the animation. it's not realistic when the cover system is so broken, a deployable shield in your line of sight, whether in front or behind, (and literally 30-40 feet in front of it), will take all the damage even though I'm not even aiming at the shield, and I never should have hit it in the first place.

You guys are con artists, you've destroyed the last 15 years of my experience, to sell skins.

At least the mafia were honest.

You can track how your experience is going to be by looking at the scoreboard.  When you see majority consoles, you know the game is going to play like garbage.  When it's mostly PC, the game works quite well.

Noobs are one thing, but camping is an actual part of BF gameplay.  TDM and redsuck are outliers, the primary focus of the game is holding OBJs and defending them.  This REQUIRES camping.  If you want a turbo-mode sprint shoot die game CoD makes the game for you.

Omgosh I thought I was going crazy when this happened. I was hitting an enemy and they ran in front of a deployable shield, not behind it,  and it absorbed all of the shots that would have eliminated them.

Just left a majority roller lobby where I would die before I was exposed or had enemy in line of sight. Checked input device, 🎮. Died in one frame, 🎮. Bullet sponge, 🎮.  /quit

DICE themselves have already publicly acknowledged there is netcode issues, blaming consoles for everything is just easier for you than admitting EA/DICE still haven’t been able to fix it months after launch.

You see more console icons and immediately blame them for the netcode. It’s not the consoles...Console players who turn crossplay off still get the exact same desync, bad hitreg, insta-deaths and dying behind cover issues It’s well documented on Reddit and EA forums, 100s of complaints Since the Beta.

Console players turning it off for pure console lobbies should feel much smoother it dosent. PC players using the config edit for PC only  lobbies should feel much smoother it dosent. PC players who bother with the config edit and finally get PC-only and in most cases end up in almost empty lobbies, report the same netcode garbage. Same TTD/TTK feel, same bullets not registering, same desync this is a server-side netcode / lag compensation.

IMO consoles could be more stable because all console hardware is standardized with far less FPS variance. A big mix of 200+ FPS rigs and low-end 40-70 FPS Potato PCs creates even more hardware variance that makes lag compensation struggle harder. Would be good to see some actual stats published by DICE / EA on all this.

They need to give PC a crossplay toggle like consoles have. Everyone has been wanting this for almost 9-10 months now and I cant see a reason why they wont do it unless, they simply can't and dont want to say it cause AI built the game?

Every single BF game launched after BF2142 has been a disaster, fixing one thing and breaking another, a cycle of patch fixing patches. Yes, one of the main issues is the netcode!  From 2006 to the present, 2026... 20 years later, the same issue continues to plague BF!

Now, here's the real problem... Think about it. We, the Consumers, continue to purchase the Corporation's broken game.

Its EOMM. I have indenitcal experience vs noobs. Xplay off on xbox or ps5. Doesn't matter. If you play often and drop high kds and win rate you will be placed in unwinnable games with bad team mates, thats sbmm, now if you are able to carry the noobs and win anyways you will then suffer eomm, where you no longer deal damage and every streak you go on will be ended by a low kd player who's kill on you just so happens to put them at even ratio or +1. Or blocks there footsteps audio. Point is you get served up to noobs the more you play. Its eomm. When you quit for a week all of a sudden game works great. Continue to play a week,  bam back to crap. Its eomm. And if it's not removed when server browser and persistent servers drop im permanently done with battlefield.

Sbmm and eomm are artifical and I won't participate in a rigged system

Catch up, this was patched LONG ago and is no longer viable option to force crossplay off. PC players were receiving bans for editing these files so they could improve their experience. Players were being punished for something that was at the root of BF games. I will say again... editing the config file to bypass crossplay on PC is IGNORED when launching the game and finding a match. Even if the file saves your edits, you will see Crossplay OFF on the matchmaking screen but you will still be pared with players on PS5 and XBOX platforms. This is widely known and isn't hard to find on Steam and EA forums. I'd be happy to send a screenshot or record a clip for anyone who doubts the claims here.

Additionally, the experience feels much more different when lobbies are stacked with more or less platform majority. I experience way less anomalies when the majority of players are PC players.

💯 There no need to force players to play on crossplay. If we wait longer, we wait longer or we get bots till it fills up. Implement Crossplay OFF for PC and let the problems manifest after the change, just like DICE's current model of patches and live-testing.

I'd recommend community based statistic collection and analysis before I trust the publisher who would benefit from nudging sentiment to support their investments. Let Reddit users do their thing.

The sheer amount of feedback on crossplay is exactly that, feedback that should not be ignored. Good, bad, critical, or indifferent, EA/DICE has an obligation to consider feedback when the problem continues to manifest time and again.

With all the AI they used to build the game and updates that dont really fix anything, I am starting to doubt if they even know how to fix all the janky matchmaking things🤔

this game is absolute hot **bleep** garbage and on the steam forums it's clear they're using a bunch of bots to try and combat the dumb console issues or they just ban you for calling their childish bots out.

the game has backwards in a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR way since last patch.

there's more instances of super bullets, the bots are dumber than ever before and deaths make even less sense and, on top of having to deal with rollers it's pretty clear there's a fair few pc players using controllers now too to get the various controller assist and/or using hardware spoofers to unlock the assist on mouse and keyboard.

    Also,

It is BLATANTLY obvious this game randomizes mouse in put and reg to help other players get an edge over you and ruin the experience.

For example how i can have the corsshairs dead center point blank and NOTHING regges and the other player just gets ALL THE **bleep** REGISTRATION!

You shoot someone first and they just stop running and you die in2 bullets.

it's clear they are randomizing mouse input from game to game, you can have one game that feels good, leave for a break, come back and all of a sudden NOTHING hits despite having the same settings.

I've noticed this, I can 360 spin with half my mouse mat, and too many times I've hit my tower and still couldn't aim on the target, or the times my sensitivity goes through the roof, or your cursor flies off to the left or the right while aiming on target.

I get there are moments where camping is justified. in obvious circumstances it would be defending a point or objective. However, when people are making a career out of it, and I do believe taking advantage of the cover system and the suppression system, I think it's gotten out of hand, I have friends who do this type of gameplay and consistently get over 100 kills a match, and they think they're the Bees knees, until I destroy them. they're not noobs but that's literally all they're good at, and they're terrible at everything else.

I have actually thought about this. Could they be introducing some randomness, where in some games it works, you get good scores, but most of the time it's shait. Then you are like a junky looking for that small win. It makes you addicted, as you always have the hope that it will get good.

That would be diabolical, but it's maybe not that far from the truth. The problem is that as soon as another better game appears, everyone will ditch this BS.

On one hand I think you're diving into conspiracy theories. On the other, it's very much DICE's fault, and their lack of communication. The inconsistency in player experience is probably what gets me the most.

I never know what I'm gonna get. Some games feel great, I'd even say some of the better multiplayer experience I've have in a long time. Some feel like dog poo and make me want to uninstall the whole thing.

Is it netcode? Is it SBMM? Is it some weird, twisted hidden mechanic? Heck, is it just the result of luck and faulty perception on our part? DICE has the data and the technical information, and the cageyness is simply intolerable. No wonder weird theories start popping up left and right.

I'm sure (I hope) they don't have some experience randomizer, but the experience we get, as users, is exactly that, and the effect it creates is to keep looking for a good game to get a big shot of dopamine.
