Re: Give spawn beacon back to recon?

So just a quick recap.

People who like the change- Just dont want long range snipers being stingy and camping far for kills, not helping the team. (Or they want to make it harder for them).

People who dont like the change- Believe the assault class isnt a good fit for the function of the beacon. (will not be picked or will get destroyed/misused)

Considerations:

-This battlefield has much smaller maps (less mountain camping, everything is walkable/reachable pretty easy)

-Not all assaults are dumb, some will effectively use the beacon to push the line from a safe-ish spawn to play aggressively on the contested middle point (not traditionally how the beacon is used). Hopefully some will take up the mantel and use the beacon to harass the back points, even if thats not really their forte.

-Recon can easily zap beacons (alot of non-recons dont know, but a big part of recon is looking for and denying the spawn beacons and snipers of the other team)

-Not all snipers are campers, good snipers spend time placing themselves strategically like good LMG players, but with more distance and at enemy flanks/ behind lines (why many argue they should have beacon because it fits the role)

-Long range campers will continue to exist and camp regardless, sometimes at or near their spawn.

-Corner campers will continue to exist and camp, now with the ability to use the beacon to spawn at a spot to hole up over and over, also not helping objectives/team (a new kind of beacon misuse).

Personally: I think the spite of people not wanting long range campers is not warranted, because these maps dont seem like theyd have a problem with abusive snipers. I still believe this change was done to force closer fighting and high action BECAUSE the maps are so small and thats what the devs are banking on. To me, the hate is just not enough to justify having the beacon become something that its not and also being misused in new ways regardless. I agree though that someone said it best that assault definately needs SOMETHING done because its having a major identity crisis.

    Sadly nothing in this game is done how a traditional battlefield game would do it, years of streamers "cool ideas" and people requesting stuff with no care about what it means for the gameplay.

    Open weapons, smaller maps, bunny hopping and sliding around, diluted melee, stupid looking skins, faster respawns etc etc

    The only thing they have added that is a good thing for gameplay is the drag revive and the fortification from bfv.

    Everything else they have done has dumbed the game down chasing more and more sales.

    It isn't just the spawn beacon change, beacon should of stayed with recon, assault should be reviving and keeping the team pushing,  support should be dropping ammo and laying down covering fire.

    Engineer is the only class that is in the right place.

    In a future game I am 100% certain classes will be completely gone and everyone will have access to everything, that is the way it is heading sadly and I am struggling to come to terms with how bad it is.

    Right now this is just another arena shooter.
