I saw that as well.  Having a TPM 2.0+ board and Windows 10 64-bit indirectly supports HVCI and VBS as well... I have to think that perhaps certain aspects of Javelin may want access to some of virtualized runtime... I think there is more to come on that.  I find it strange that they did not list Windows 10 as 64-bit while also saying HVCI and VBS capable...??

Perhaps... although I think Javelin will just want permission to access the runtime, not necessarily "live" in it... still more to research on Javelin for sure!

I'm a bit confused on these PC requirements myself. Admittedly, I have an older PC (I just can't afford any upgrades), and thus some of these configurations I just can't enable.

I have UEFI Secure Boot Enabled.

I don't have TPM 2.0 Enabled because my motherboard doesn't support TPM 2.0 (hence why I'm also not on Windows 11).

I don't have any clue what both HVCI Capable and VBS Capable means.

I don't have Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling Enabled, nor was I told to ever enable it.

And furthermore, why is Windows 11 recommended? Every single person I have talked to has said that Windows 11 only ever gave them problems (If I was ever capable of getting a newer, more modern PC there's no doubt in my mind I would downgrade from Windows 11 to Windows 10 regardless if Windows 10 reached its shelf life or not).

So, with all of that said, am I just prohibited from playing BF6 and that's that?

They don't have the secure boot and tpm requirement of the main page for system requirements. if it is required count me out i won't be reinstalling windows for 1 game when so many other and free games are out there ....

HVCI and VBS are core components of how TPM 2.0 secures the OS kernel.

EA’s new (since 2023 I think) client-side anti-cheat software is called Javelin.  It requires TPM 2.0 to be enabled.  I am sorry to say, if you are not able to support TPM 2.0, you will not be able to play BF6 on your computer… if GeForce Now picks up the game soon, that may be one workaround.  There are some VPN tricks that may work as well, but that is more advanced and still being worked on… there is a sizeable community of people that are uncomfortable giving EA DICE access to their kernel!

And Windows 11 is such utter crap that most people would rather stay on Windows 10 regardless if it will stop being fully supported.

In 5 days from now (Aug 7) I'm going to guarantee the Internet will be flooded with people talking about all kinds of problems they're having with BF6 all because of these ridiculous requirements.

You might be right.  We will certainly know soon enough.

Hi yall, this is a response I got from the Official Discord.

"why is Windows 11 recommended?" They are recommending it because TPM & Secureboot are "Required" for Win11 (not Win10) but there are workarounds.

I won't be installing any game that requires it. I use flash drives to boot from and getting back into the BIOS is at least a 30 minute job to disable it.

EA won't miss my $$$
They can't tell me and make me believe there wasn't another way around this...

I can't even get back into the BIOS without removing the cmos battery and jumping the pins to reset the bios and removing the video card...to use my onboard video (my motherboard requires this if I boot from a flash drive(which I require often))

So... no more games from EA or anyone else that think secureboot is the way.
