How will EA know what users were affected by the EA app bug last friday

The way I look at it (and yes, i'm a nobody) your pre-order gave you the right to play friday, it was part of what was promised with your pre-order. This in my opinion would mean you're among those who are affected.

You couldn't, so even if you didn't for whatever reason, your purchase and what was promised could never be met (because of EA-issues).

Asking a refund however sounds to me that you shot yourself in your feet.
