How will EA know what users were affected by the EA app bug last friday

I read the apology from EA and the message that there would be compensation for players affected by the EA app bug last friday. How does EA know what users were affected? Because I was unable to play...

well wasnt able to play also only was able to join 1 friend in 1 portal server thats it and yes also had the unable to play bug and havent received compensation either yet
